Klizan choked the match away in the second and third sets.
Roland Garros R2: Mahut def. Klizan 4-6 6-4 7-6(5) 6-3Filo V. 05-30-2012, 05:49 PM Klizan choked the match away in the second and third sets. Yves. 05-30-2012, 05:49 PM Impressive win for Mahut on clay! Certinfy 05-30-2012, 05:50 PM Mahut in the third round at Roland Garros? Smoke944 05-30-2012, 05:50 PM This was a flashback to the Klizan of a couple years ago, which is unfortunate. Just an incredibly muggy performance. green25814 05-30-2012, 05:52 PM Yes! Mahut :D Corey Feldman 05-30-2012, 05:53 PM Mahut getting mobbed by the fans on that court, what a superstar! TMJordan 05-30-2012, 05:59 PM I guess Klizan is high on the list of brain transplants. Naudio Spanlatine 05-30-2012, 06:00 PM Mahut:hearts:  viruzzz 05-30-2012, 06:01 PM There was a game at 5-5 in 3rd set that was so damn long. Does anyone has the exact time? Gillouthe best 05-30-2012, 06:08 PM Nico on a GS R3 for the 2nd time on a row :woohoo: asmazif 05-30-2012, 06:09 PM  brilliant, Nico the clay giant :D Everything aside from crowd support pointed to a Klizan win here. Pirata. 05-30-2012, 06:13 PM Nico! :woohoo: 1811mil 05-30-2012, 06:15 PM very weak result for klizan, he dominates the clay challengers, could have make a huge step here but lost to a guy who is pretty useless on clay, unreal choke in second set... madmax 05-30-2012, 06:16 PM Mahut getting mobbed by the fans on that court, what a superstar! :worship: Blue Heart24 05-30-2012, 06:22 PM Klizan belongs to the challenger circuit, not to a third round of a slam.Made Mahut look like a mental giant. Dead Net Cord 05-30-2012, 06:31 PM There was a game at 5-5 in 3rd set that was so damn long. Does anyone has the exact time? I don't but there were 30 points in that game. Voo de Mar 05-30-2012, 06:34 PM 12 deuces at 5-all and Mahut finished it with two service winners :worship: KarlyM 05-30-2012, 08:45 PM NICOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! :rocker2: bornnl 05-30-2012, 08:46 PM There was a game at 5-5 in 3rd set that was so damn long. Does anyone has the exact time? I think 12 deuces...i was watching and calling for klizans mother all the way. This kid is really for challengers only. Geo 05-30-2012, 08:47 PM I always liked Mahut's game. Glad to see him make use of his draw :yeah: The dream is over now though, as Federer awaits  :bolt: duong 05-31-2012, 12:34 AM I don't understand how you speak about "choking" while Mahut won far more points on return than Klizan in second set and even more than him in first set which he lost. Klizan was very near to winning the third set with that unreal 5-5 game but Mahut fought incredibly well : saved most of the breakpoints with very good shots. Clearly Isner's match and the public helped him here ;) Overall Mahut's win was very well deserved. duchuy89 05-31-2012, 02:43 AM I cheers Mahut. Topspindoctor 05-31-2012, 02:46 AM Mughut will be torn to shreds by Olderer. It will not be pretty. leng jai 05-31-2012, 03:10 AM Mahut is pretty suave. Mercury 05-31-2012, 03:18 AM Is he the first to actually win his match after being in that "road to Roland Garros" car? I was seriously starting to the they spray that car with morphine or something. CooCooCachoo 05-31-2012, 08:13 AM Complete wasted chance by Klizan. :smash: Shirogane 05-31-2012, 10:04 AM Is he the first to actually win his match after being in that "road to Roland Garros" car? I was seriously starting to the they spray that car with morphine or something.I saw it today. :yeah: Very good one! JurajCrane 05-31-2012, 10:47 AM Guys, in case you missed it, Klizan was ill last week and said after match he couldn´t move good and has sort of slower reflexes. I was hoping he overcame that last week, but he was lucky to get Dancevic in 1st round. It is a big shame, because Klizan is far better player than Mahut. I am very dissapointed, but it is sport. Fed will destroy Mahut in 3rd round but better than playing ill Klizan. Klizan said something like "virus in him couldn´t allow him to eat anything and he was very weak all week long". Henry Chinaski 05-31-2012, 11:13 AM sick or not, he probably would have choked it away anyway. he has no balls at this level. Wing Man Frank 05-31-2012, 11:17 AM If your Klizan, waking up this morning will have been a painful experience. I love Mahut, he's a real fighter and a throwback to the days when serving and volleying was an option, but on clay he's awful. Klizan's been cleaning up in the challenger circuit too so this was a real missed chance. Given that Klizan struggled to serve it out for the first set, lost 40-30 and advantage on serve in the second at 5-4* and couldn't convert any of his chances at 5-5 in the third you have to question his courage and mentality. Well done Mahut in any case. Fantastic win for him. JurajCrane 05-31-2012, 11:30 AM sick or not, he probably would have choked it away anyway. he has no balls at this level. I would say no experiences, but whatever .. he is still only 22. | |
