Marin proved a lot of people wrong today. Good match from him, dictated play throughout with clean and offensive ballstriking, constructed points very well. Didn't serve at a great percentage but backed up his second serve well. Not a lot Ferrero could do after the first set.

Ferrero's phobia of monobrows is well documented.

Great match by Marin, especially obviously in sets 2 and 3. Not much Ferrero could've done.
Now beat Delpo! :rocker2:

Good stuff mr Cilic

Cilic played a great match, he was by far the better player today. I was expecting Ferrero to be outplayed by Marin's power but I expected also more UEs from Cilic.

The TB is the first set was the turning point of the match obviously. Ferrero played it badly. He led 2-0 and then did a DF and was down 2-4.

Ferrero led also 3-1 in the first set... I'm sad, it was maybe the last match of Juanqui here.

Congrats to Cilic tough.

 Well done Cilic.
But it's school time again in R3.
Although Delpo is far from convincing so far...

Cilic was just too strong, very clean match from him. Ferrero didn't even play badly.

 :sobbing:

Only saw the second and the third set, but Juanqui was v erratic whereas Cilic played really well. (Haven't seen him play so well recently, only watched those matches where Kei gave him beatdowns!).

Wish Juanqui better luck in the grass season!

Old bones doesn't have it anymore . Mugrin actually played well for once though.

Surprisingly strong win.
Ferrero was bad, but Cilic was decent. Wonder how he will do against a struggling Del Potro.

JCF was fully fit? saw the part of 2nd set and he was serving with no pause, very strange...

Cilic has a good match!

It's always sad for me when Ferrero gets overpowered by these guys. Back in '03 when he had more kick on his serve and more snap on his balls (and footwork), he'd be able to work this match and be on offense much more. But TG from Cilic today.

Hope I can enjoy JCF in NY this August/Sept. if it truly is his last year...
