Stupid thread, it´s not like he is playing there, he is playing there - thaks to playing top FRA player- Simon is the one who is put on centre court if we are talking here, Baker is lucky to play against him.

Why was that a stupid post? Simon is the second highest ranked Frenchman (right behind Tsonga).

Why on earth wouldn't he be on center court? And why would anyone assume this has much to do with Baker? Sure, he's a great story now, so the fact that they are playing each other is nice for the schedulers. But I have to believe this has more to do with Simon than Baker.

I mean, if Baker was playing Robin Hasse this round, I really doubt that match would be on the main court.

That said, GO BAKER!!!!

Why do people think that Baker is on Chatrier because his good, if it isn't Simon that is on the other side of the net he wouldn't play there. Whether you like Simon or not his the reason why this match is on center court. It can be a good match though.

JoWillyTso
05-29-2012, 06:28 PM
It's a bit of both really. If Tsonga was playing Baker then I'd have bet it'd be Tsonga vs Baker that'd be on PC. They've obviously looked at the draw and saw that it's between Simon and Tsonga to play on PC and gone ''Baker's having a bit of a run at the moment, let's put him on.'' Baker hasn't been put on PC over Djokovic.

This has zero to do with Baker. If it was Simon versus Soeda they would also put it on PC. With that said, I hope Baker returns the favour and beats Simon. Don't count it on it though.

'lucky' to play against him? you're sounding really dumb. the French might be exciting about Simon, but the tennis world is much more excited about Baker so he is certainly the hotter commodity as of late.

Come on Baker let it shine on the big stage

It's about equality - have to pay the women the same as the men, even though they can play 2 or 3 "competitive" matches in the space the men finish one of their normal ones.

It's about how you simply dog a great match on an outside court and promote shit tennis to the masses that presumably should get into watching the game.

It's most of all, sheer poor decision making.

i think its interesting on here that if i dont endlessly praise a player on here im a hater. I dont hate brian, i like him but im just not going nuts like alot of other people are.

and all i was saying was that tsonga was more popular, i thought they'd go put him on the court again whether he had been on there or not

Which goes to show you have no understanding of the Baker story and why it's so big. It's not ONLY about Simon as some here are trying to say (which is quite annoying). It's the comeback kid versus the home favourite. Only someone uninterested in tennis or a blind hater would disagree this is an interesting prospect. Even Gasquet just said he remembers him. Baker is not your usual fluke mug. Indeed, Baker owned Tsonga in their junior years.

its an interesting prospect but given some of the other choices of what to put on the main courts i didnt think it would matter that much to them.and again, i dont know how many of those french fans are going to know much about brian

itll be a good experience, i hope he enjoys it

Did the OP say that this match is on Philippe Chatrier because of Baker? No.So why are some of you complaining about it? It's obvious this match is on CC because Simon is French. But it's a great occasion for Brian, and that's what the thread is about.I don't think he is going to win,but I hope he produces a good and competitive match.

Are you for real? It's a thread about Baker on PC whereas someone decided that we were saying Baker was GOAT and it was all due to his stature in the game that he was put there. Please point me to a post of mine which was offtopic or STFU!

Despite what some of you are arguing, I'm pretty sure they are on PC for 2 reasons.
The main reason is that Simon is a top Frenchie. Stop trying to convince yourselves that Baker would still be there if Simon wasn't.
The reason why they are on PC instead of SL is because the event organizers realize that this match has a much higher potential to be exciting than the demolitions that will occur in Tsonga's and Bartoli's matches

Hope this helps.

Oh and it would be fantastic if you guys could stop spewing bullshit at each other and either stay on topic or have your ridiculously stupid fight elsewhere. That's what Private Messages are for, or if you haven't already earned it for yourselves, bad rep is another viable option.
Glad I could help resolve this. :wavey:

i can't care less if frencholios know baker...

frenchies would eat babies to witness pseudo-french federer on pc
court. we ALL KNOW how fed/nadal beatdowns are.

YOU DON'T NEED SLAMS TO BE A GENIUS.

baker quietly shows talent on every surface. after no tennis for him in 7 years.

the other usa players were born with crap for athleticism, little to no talent and had dummy misguided parents. however, they will keep making excuses for losing:

-we are not on clay much in the usa.

-we are too slow.

-we are better on grass and hardcourts.

The two biggest courts are known to be slower than the rest (especially Lenglen). They are giving Llodra the best chance to win methinks.
