Both have single handed backhand which are good. Both are under high expectations to reach the level of their talent. Whose gonna advance?

Gasquet in 3, easily.

I like both these players but I'm picking Grigor to take this in 4.

Would have been better if they were meeting in the fourth round. Richard is in as good a shape as I have ever seen him coming into RG. He's the one with the potential to do some damage here. I just hope Grisha can put up a good fight and give us a memorable match. He's talented enough. Go for broke Grisha. You've nothing to lose. Not a great thing for tennis that one of these two is going out in the 2nd round.

Gasquet to go through in 4.

If Grigor keeps this level and doesn't panic i can see a tight 4 setter and the youngster getting it.

It's always the same feelling - now is the time...let's see.

Dimitrov has the FH as a shot. IE you're dead wrong.

Having said that, there's no way Dimitrov takes more than a set here. Even that'll be surprising. He might play better if they put him on PC or SL as he likes to show off when losing.

I said Gasquet in 3. Grigor to play 1 good shot for the highlights clip. After all, isn't that what counts?

Battle of the talented and (once) hyped players, both ressembling Federer. This will be a mental mugfest and I think Gasquet will win it, but I hope for Dimitrov.

Gasquet will win this. I've liked the look of Dimitrov since I first saw him, but he has singularly failed to deliver time and time again. I don't see things any different here.

How old was Federer when he took out grass champion Sampras at Wimbledon in 5? That's the barometer of potential future 'champion' for me. Dimitrov hasn't come anywhere near close.

Predicted Dimitrov would make the QF of a slam this year, so going with Grigor in 4.

That's a bold prediction and I hope you didn't bet anything because a lot of things have to happen for it to come true including pigs flying.

it's rare given Gasquet's mental qualities that he can beat someone who has more talent than he does, but that will be the case here

I think we can safely say that if Haas gets through to the 3rd round it's going to be a beautiful match to watch regardless of the winner of the Grisha-Richie match. Really spoiled here. Two matches in a row where all the players have stunning single handed back hands :worship::worship::worship:

Heart wants Dimi in 3.
But Head thinks Gasquet in 4.

That is a good opportunity for Grigor to show that he could be the real deal for the years to come.

What a ridiculous thread, what has Dimitrov shown really to be given such good chances to win this match?
Hopefully Gasquet wins in 3,but knowing Richie it could be a fairly tight match, either way Gasquet should win.

I think you mistyped some words so I fixed your post. No need to thank me.

On a more serious note, if it's damp tomorrow, I don't see Dimitrov winning more than 4 games a set. SL is already slower than PC, so RG is favourite by a mile and then some.

rly?

how did you see that? Dimitrov has a big serving game, makes high % serve and makes a lot of aces, so i don't see more than one set he gets 4 or less games.

It will certainly be much tighter than ppl expect, especially the ones who underestimate Dimitrov's clay abilities and actually overestimate Gasquet's.

At this very moment there isn't even one department where Gasquet would be rated better than Dimitrov. Except experience, which is smth hard to rate as Dimitrov is gaining some every match.

We can speculate about the BHs, but the same way goes for the serves, FHs, etc.

If Dimitrov doesn't have one of his "Ferrer at IW" moments - he's got his fair 35-40% chances of winning this match.

Which makes the bookies' estimation of 16% extremely ridiculous imo..
