Certinfy 05-28-2012, 07:09 PM Fedtards were definitely correct when they were going on about his ridiculously hard draw. Anyway great see Goffin win! Very likable guy with a nice game. :) Smoke944 05-28-2012, 07:09 PM Good comeback and great win. 156mphserve 05-28-2012, 07:09 PM That R4 match was always gonna be easy for Fed. It was doubtful that Stepanek or Lopez was going to get there Federer in 2 05-28-2012, 07:10 PM Not sexy enough Deathless Mortal 05-28-2012, 07:11 PM Hopefully David makes R4, would be great. misty1 05-28-2012, 07:16 PM would love to see david take advantage and get to the 4th round iriraz 05-28-2012, 07:16 PM I think the discussion about Federer`s draw wasn`t about the R4 match but mostly about the quarterfinal where on paper Berdych is the toughest draw he could get. samanosuke 05-28-2012, 07:19 PM  like Fed was going to lose against Stepanek. Fed got the worst opponent in QF and that's only what it counts Rumour 05-28-2012, 07:21 PM While it's refreshing to see someone else start a match thread for once, surely the actual scoreline is more more relevant info to put in the title than a different player's prospective opponents in a round he has yet to reach  156mphserve 05-28-2012, 07:21 PM I like how you assume Fed will be in round 4 title should read Kubot/Goffin/Clement/Serra to face Federer/Ungur/Klizan/Mahut in round 4 misty1 05-28-2012, 09:11 PM lets be honest here. Even if radek, andy and feliciano had made it through their first rounds it wouldnt make things any harder for federer Li Ching Yuen 05-28-2012, 09:34 PM Goffin is done physically after this match, Kubot wavers way too much and might have to play in slow conditions by the time 3r comes around, Serra still hangs around to catch some more slam MDs and stash some money before he retires. Clement is super fit and absolutely loves best of 5 matches, big favorite in my eyes. Voo de Mar 05-28-2012, 09:45 PM Fed has virtual bye this year between round 1 and 4 :o If you're not a fan and there aren't any other matches at the same time, it's a waste of time watching his matches until quarterfinals. Challengerslover 05-28-2012, 09:57 PM Fed has virtual bye this year between round 1 and 4 :o If you're not a fan and there aren't any other matches at the same time, it's a waste of time watching his matches until quarterfinals. Well, I get your point and you may be right. But I hope that Ungur and/or Klizan will give Federer some solid tests. Ungur and Klizan are very solid claycourters, both in a great form and both have some potential to play a good match also vs. Federer. Well, Federer is Federer, but I guess he will have at least some fair work to make it to the QF. That R4 for Fed looks really crazy, though. Letīs be honest and say that draw was very acceptable for Fed till the QF and also Djokovic in SF is a better option for him than Nadal. That crying over Federerīs draw was simply pathetic. Considering all of the things, he has just a normal and fairly acceptable draw. Voo de Mar 05-28-2012, 10:00 PM If you want to know my opinion I don't see any of these players being able to win a set against Federer, even a tie-break is unlikely. Challengerslover 05-28-2012, 10:07 PM I honestly donīt know. I hope you are wrong, but I am not sure. Ungur and Klizan both have potential and could give Federer some scares, but it depends on if they would be able to play their normal games and not coming on the court with a losing attitude. Klizan has weapons, Ungur showed it today, so we will see. And yeah, I am not talking about beating Federer, thatīs highly unlikely, but I would like to see some tension and fight there, at least. Voo de Mar 05-28-2012, 10:13 PM Ok, one of us can bump this thread on Friday. Mongoose 05-28-2012, 10:29 PM already have a thread, but this win deserves two :worship: Allez 05-29-2012, 06:27 AM Why has this turned into a Fed thread  Let's celebrate Goffin bringing sexy back. Fab win for him and I hope he keeps it up He is a future top tenner after all :yeah: SelvenluvJo 05-29-2012, 06:31 AM Goffin:yeah: rhinooooo 05-29-2012, 06:52 AM Good job Goffin. Challengerslover, you're partially right, Federer didn't go through these rounds as easily as I expected but in the 3rd rd it was Mahut not Klizan (which I expected to be honest). Fed won three easy sets against Ungur and Mahut but lost one set on both occasions which is unexpected for me. I can't imagine Goffin takes a set off Federer (I couldn't imagine it in Q-bot's case either). | |
