I almost want to cry

Such a loser, Bjorn. You're an embarrassment, and to choke against this choker is unforgivable. You should be totally ashamed, and the effort in the fifth set was nil. I just can't believe it, his record of R1 losses in grand slam events continues.

The first round of slams are always entertaining when Filo V's expectations come crashing down.

fuck yeah

Must feel at least as good as when he won his first match in Montpellier. PHM certainly looks as emotional right now. Enjoy this win, and wish you best of luck against Isner!

I didn't predict or have expectations on this match. Bjorn obviously was the favorite and should have won, but I wasn't sure if he could do it. And he obviously couldn't, for no reason.

Flyboy, stop crying tennis isn't that serious. Do some meditation, yoga or other deep breathing exercises.

Yes, the last set Phau choked 6-0.

unlikely, that would involve one of Filo V.'s favourites actually getting to round 2:lol:

If he meets them in other tournaments then it'll be NID that he'll take them out

I will say, Paulo really did raise his game from the middle of the fourth set onward and played strong, consistent tennis. That doesn't excuse Bjorn losing from basically having the match in his hands, but Paulo stepped up and deserves some credit.

Everyone is just worshipping choker Mathieu, whatever, if that's what you want to do. Just don't deny what happened in the match and the reality Phau was clearly the better player in three sets. He choked, and that is what happened.

If both players play well PHM wins. He's the much better player.

On clay, most definitely. But that's not what happened in the first three sets until Bjorn had a chance to break at 4 all, and missed two easy shots in that game. He choked it.

Also, Phau's BH is a better shot than anything PHM has. Although I agree Mathieu is a better player.

:sport: Happy for Comebackthieu though. He should be heavy favorite vs Isner.

Oh yes, amazing win for Paulo. :D :sobbing:

Wasted 2-0 leads many times in his carrer, so this kind of comebacks are even more satisfying.

A five setter, but a relatively easy one with moslty quick sets. He should be fresh for Isner and I think it's gonna be an entertaining match. Allez! :D

EDIT; what is all this favouriting of Mathieu over Isner? :spit: Isner can routine him with his huge serve and improved ground game.

good comeback from PHM. To have any chance to beat Isner, he needs to serve above 60%, utilize the drop shot and especially the bh down the line - which will open up the court and leave Isner open to have to run to the bh side. Also, conditions will be slower tomorrow which could help PHM. And of course, he'll have the crowd.
