I wasn't the one who is always complaining about draws. I believe, Federer fans own that honour. Just pointing out they shouldn't complain that much because their boy gets just as many 'mugs' as Nadal and Djokovic

does it matter?

the ATP is in such a bad state right now that everyone knows that for the top 3 the "tough" competition usually starts in the QF.

Why would you complain. For Wimbledon RN will get Seppi for his SF.

The last time I checked, Berdych, Del Potro and Djokovic are still there.
Nalbandian's ousting doesn't change anything, except perhaps for certain haters who were hoping for a miracle?

funny that in order to assert the point that federer doesn't have an easy draw you need to go as far as to consider potential QF and SF opponents.

and the tournament is just starting

It was a really tough draw and he fought very hard past the difficult Berdych and one of the great all time players in Roger Federer. So the last time he had a tough draw was only one draw ago.

I don't think Adrian has the type of game that will stand up well vs Roger, but backhand to backhand rallies will be interesting between these two. Ungur can definitely win several of those.

Fed already said that he has no clue about this Mr. Ungur, and would have rather played Nalbandian.

If he plays like he did today, I wouldn't be surprised to see him possibly lose a set in a TB.
But normally this should be Fed in three.

Obviously against Nalbandian he knows what to expect and also knows where Nalby`s game is right now and is confident in the win.Against Ungur he is huge favourite and is expected to win but he has no clue what he will get from an unknown player and it could take some time until he can figure it out.
For someone like Federer who basically plays slams, master series and a few smaller events he rarely has to face these kind of players like Kamke or Ungur outside of the slams.
Also competing against someone from his own generation is a lot more fun then against a challenger player.

The way the spanish is playing, I don't see Roger having a chance, unless he comes up with the Goderer SuperSayajin level.

Being on this forum, should be good indicator that users mostly know how pro players set their game-plane in first few rounds of slams, especially Fed on clay, he has always being bad/average on first rounds, but i guess your not one of that users lol!

iriraz
05-30-2012, 06:41 AM
Yep,first couple of matches aren`t an indicator how things will go throughout the tournament for Federer.
Last year it was pretty much smooth sailing until the semis while 2009,when he won,he had plenty of tough 4 or 5 setters.

Goat cheese must be happy to face this challenger player rather than his best nemesis...no chance for Ungur to cause him a lot of trouble...goat cheese will win in 3 easy sets. A pity Dave was in a bad day vs Ungur, I was looking for a decent match between him and the arrogant Rolex guy. Now we'll have a very boring match (all goat cheese matchs are boring anyway)
