Too good from the South Tyrolean beast, even not starting slowly and serving out matches.

Andreas too solid as expected.

Kukuškin or Gulbis next. I hope they play for few more hours, Gulbis is coming back from 0-2 down at the moment.
It's shaping up nicely for a Verdasco 3rd round clash.

go deep Seppi!

Very good service numbers overall for Seppi, after a shaky start on serve. Only lost six points on serve in the third set. He made 26 errors in the second set, a lot of those being at the end of the set, yet won it anyway. Andreas serving well makes him dangerous because that's the weak part of the game.

Pretty much expected, Seppi playing his best tennis lately whereas Denko...

Congrats Andreas (and Mateya! :p)

Davydenko had BP at 5 all in the second set to serve for it. Who knows what would have happened had he taken it.

^ probably would've lost anyways. Davydenko in his great 2009 form would've eaten players like Seppi alive.
But that is three years ago now and I feel like Davydenko is never gonna get back to his best. Too bad, I always enjoyed his tennis.

Proud of Seppi! Living up to his seeding with a solid, straight sets win against a potentially dangerous opponent (even if out of form and way past his prime). Judging by the stats, yes it was a great serving day for Andreas and that definitely makes things easier for him. I think he's got an underrated first serve and has improved a lot his second serve, I don't really see it as a major weakness as it was in the past. Must-win 2R now.

Well done to Seppi. He has had a very encouraging clay court season has a great chance of continuing that with a decent run here.

Sad to say I don't think it would have mattered. I had seen his Nice loss to Baker - the fitness just isn't there.

I read Seppi played a very solid, confident match and basically outplayed Davydenko. So I agree in that Davydenko coming back from 2-5 down in the second set, almost taking it, wouldn't have mattered in the end. He showed fight but he's just not the same player.

Hope Baldenko doesn't retire anytime soon, I am enjoying these R1 slam humiliations way too much.
