Frank had no business being here. Basically wasted a spot that someone who could actually play would have used.

Klizan has broke Dancevic twice and seemed to have no problems in this match.

Dancevic was back after injury and he came to Roland Garros probably only to collect money.

NEXT ROUND : Martin Klizan faces Nicolas Mahut, I think it is very winnable match for Klizan, and also a big opportunity to play GOAT in 3rd round.

So, Filo what are your expectations on Klizan-Mahut matchup ?

Klizan should be the logical favorite on clay against Mahut but the "french" factor may play, so it's 50-50 in my opinion. I would say Mahut because he has more experience and seems very motivated to me.

My expectations are that Klizan is way too good from the baseline for Mahut, but Mahut can also rush Klizan into errors and break his rhythm up. So Klizan should win, but it's not a sure win for Martin.

I think almost the same as two posts above mine, Klizan is surely better player than Mahut, given it is on clay. But French crowd might help Mahut to take the match to the distance.

Filo is right, Mahut might break Klizan rhythm, but I still hope for Klizan in 4 lets say, because he is just better.

Last week they played, Klizan won Bordeaux CH and Mahut reached QF there. It will be interesting match.

I'll agree, but this is what happens when players below 100 aren't getting paid much on a regular basis, they take the free money that the slams give them.

I think if they handed out more money at the lower levels that would help solve this problem

100 people out of 100 would take the money here when they're stuck in challengers struggling to make ends meet

I can't really blame Frank for why he played this event, the money is too good, but when it's this blatant, that you're solely in the draw for the money, then I think a penalty is in order due to hurting the credibility of the sport.

Dancevic was in no condition to play to begin with but chose to play in order to get the 1R paycheck. That's life outside of the main tour.

Some professional tennis players are in it for the money. Big surprise.

Very, very stupid for Frank to play, even regarding money. He's just gonna damage his hopes on grass and hards.

Roddick does the same, and he doesn't even need the money...

I thought it was a done deal that Frank would not make his comeback until the Grass season. I also thought his ranking was not good enough to make the main draw without having to qualify. Strange decision to play RG. Perhaps he thought he'd healed enough to try his luck. Don't buy the speculation about doing it for the money. The 1st round money is probably not even good enough to cover all his traveling and accommodation costs (him and his entourage). Plus what's the use of getting around 10 thousand Euros (assuming around 40 percent in taxes) if it means possibly aggravating your injury and remaining out of the tour a lot longer and thus unable to earn any income  Doesn't make any sense

Same? Not really. He didn't show up for few games and retired afterwards. He completed the match and won one set as well in the process. Hardly comparable
