Filip was obviously a trainwreck, but Devilder was very solid after a bad start of the match. He was in total control of proceedings.

As for Filip, he was absolutely clueless today... taken to the woodshed and schooled pretty hard. First round loss on it's own is not disappointing but his lack of game very much is.

I think I'd give him more slack about the injury layoff that if he'd gotten in with ranking instead of qualifying. To play 3 matches and then lay this egg against this level player is just sad.

Well, his body/stamina looks junior. Not disappointing to lose, however to get blown off court, that's really bad.

what i meant was that he looks like a junior. junior physique. he will not break top ranks, that now looks like certainty. never understood the hype to start with.
today's game is built on fitness and great athletic abilities. he is a weakling among hulks and has no superskills to compensate it.

He's basically missed two years, and probably had permanent damage to his potential.

Actually, today he looked worse than I remember him last. That's comparing a 20yr old to an 18yr old as well, which is kinda ugly for his career.
