Who do you feel is the most athletic player on the tour?

In terms of pure speed who is the fastest?

Who is the most flexible player and who can stretch the most?

Who has the best footwork?

Which player has the best fitness and who is the strongest?

Who is the best at hitting great shots on the run?

And if you can, find a player hitting a great athletic trick shot *cough cough Clownfils ;)*

Easy question for an easy answer.

Monfils >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> everyone else.

In terms of raw athleticism, no one comes close.

If only he could make use of it to become a top player instead of clowning around

Monfils by a long way.

Monfils is in wrong job. Martial arts are way to go for his body type. Taekwondo would be good, but he is too old of course.

:D:worship: Seriously though, Chuck was a one tough customer back in the 60's and 70's.

I think that 20 feet hurdles and pole-vaulting off airplanes are more his kind of sport.

Hard to look past Novak. Monfils & Simon are other candidates.

Best footwork is Fed. But yes, Monfils is a freak. Probably could have been an Olympian.

Nadal.

It's Monfils by a mile. Basically just pick any other sport and Monfils would be naturally good at it.

Nadal. The rest are snails compared to him.

Nadal is nowhere in the realm of Monfils in terms of athleticism.

Novak

how do you figure that?

Nadal moves better and is fitter. Monfils hits a harder flat ball when he goes for it.

It's hard to gauge much more than that just from watching tennis

Monfils is the best natural athlete. There are some "enhanced" athletes out there that give him a good run, but they don't really belong in this discussion.

Monfils is purely probably the strongest, fastest, best flexible player on tour. athlete wise he is the best.

BUT movement wise obviously he is not the best, with Novak and Nadal being up there.

not necessarily the fastest nor the best agility but he is definitely overall the fittest. just look at him out there, he is in incredible shape and can do practically any physical things very well

Monfils is injured too much. Think he dropped off a little because he spends so much time recovering. Novak might have him beat in agility/speed these days.

Isner is very athletic taking height and weight into account. Have to go to basketball to find a big guy being that atheletic and he would no doubt be good at that sport too.

why do you figure he's the fastest if he isn't the fastest on a tennis court?

what's it based on?

how do we know for example that murray wouldn't beat him in a 60m sprint?

deciding what player is strongest is pretty much guesswork too. we have no idea what sort of numbers these guys can squat, bench or deadlift.

Does athleticism include stamina? If yes, Monfils cannot be called the most athletic player on tour.
Remember USO 2009? He died after the first set against very mediocre Nadal who wasn't even close to his normal fitness level.

Monfils is the best pure athlete the game has ever seen.
