Bellucci saved 6 MPs, but couldn't save the 7th one, what a dramatic match it was!

Awesome match but gasquet will be very tired in his next round match. The backhand on match point was electric. keep it going Richard

Both of them are awful. Bellucci for literally pissing his pants as soon as it got to 4-5 in set two and not recovering until 2-5 down in the third. Then after missing 27 break back points at 3-5* in the third, he finally broke back and saved another match point at *5-6. After all that, he then went up a mini break and then proceeded to miss an open court volley followed by a horrendous dropshot and then two errors to give away the match points.

Meanwhile, Gasquet spent most of the match just shamelessly moonballing and pushing until Bellucci made an error or else shanked/hit an awful dropshot he could put away. He needed 8 match points across 2 games and the TB to finally win, and he was generally just his gutless, pointless self.

Two horrible wastes of talent.

don't care how bad he played it will still be enough to beat Troicki

Gasquet's gonna be so tired after this match + his long matches in Estoril. Troicki will win in 2

He got back into the TB by pushing but ironically, converted his 7th MP by ripping a BH :spit:

Bellucci consolidates his status of the deciding tie-break sucker :o All match points saved irrelevant in the end. Gasquet couldn't win anything tight until Estoril, 0-8 record in at least 12-game sets, 4-0 since then.

I guess his pushing pays off more in tight situations on clay

Good he didn't decide to push once again on 7th match point, that inside-out backhand was amazing, especially under circumstances

bellucci led *3-2 then missed an open court volley and played a ridiculously bad drop shot on next 2 points.

typical choking and braindead shit from him.

I feel bad for Richie. They had both betting their whole saving against them and it's Bellucci who took the jackpot

Yeah, that was awful, perhaps his inability to win matches of this type reminded of itself. He wanted too badly win it and played those two points with a wooden-hand in contrary to situations when he was on a verge of defeat; this is one of the best things in racquet sports, if you play solidly trying to avoid loss, it's only a half of success, you have to play it also when you're closer to victory than your opponent :) Today's match was a reminiscence of Bellucci's more painful defeat to Youzhny in Davis Cup last year (12-14 in the 5th set after 5 hours) where the Brazilian showed guts behind, but choked being ahead.

Gasquet could avoid choking this match, especially *5-4 A-40→5-5
He should have win, easily:o But win is win.

Gasquet has a painful defeat against all the top 20 players so it's irrelevant.

So Thomaz was in control for a set and a half, faded out, then Richie had a bunch of MPs and tried to choke away the third.

Yep, exactly what I would think with these two involved.

Bellucci is a brainless ballbasher without a clue. This clown belongs on the WTA tour.

seems to me that richie tried really hard to choke the match away but as expected bellucci was having none of it

tiebreak probly went a bit like this:

-you can have the match, dear sir. i'm not in the mood today
-no thank you. please do keep it.
- it's not an issue, mister. take it. i insist
- are you sure?
- yes, please.
- okay. thanks a lot.

Good to see Gasquet winning these kinds of matches. Watching him fade away in a match is not a pleasant sight.
