Delpo looked flat, too many unforced errors from mayer....

even playing average and whining a lot about the surface is enough to routines #24.
It could also be enough to beat Youznhy and even Cilic, but he needs to step it up if he happens to face Isner in R3. Against a server like Isner, there's no room for losses of concentration.
But indeed, it's good he's been beating 15-25th level players routinely without forcing too much - Wawrinka, Gasquet and now Mayer. Good signs indeed.

Mayer is really horrible now
Florian was far from being horrible: he played pretty well, especially until 4-5 in the first set. Great winners, amazing angles, tricky slices... but then he got broken, and DelPo played way better than the start of the match (and he was already playing well!).
If I were Flo, I'd play a rich Challenger to collect wins and confidence: the game is all there, but the head is missing.
However, this match made me understand how much I like Mayer... even more than DelPo, differently from what I have always thought.
Congrats Juan, and good luck in R2 :)

He played pretty well to start, but no return, no consistency, no emotion...

Potro is playing some great tennis just now. has an outside chance this week. shame to see Mayer play so poorly as he is generally a pleasure to watch.

Terrible draw for Mayer:sad:
Good win, Del Potro:D

Yeah, that'd be bizarre. Needless to say, my real name isn't Mark Lenders nor am I Japanese ;)
You are faking?

That's a shame.

Florian  just can't seem to win matches whether he's playing well or not. It didn't help that he drew in-form Del Potro in the first round.
