Unbelievable. Guys at spanish forum posted he got angry against Srichaphan and kicked a net post. He hurt the big toe in his left foot and had to be infiltrated after playing against Ljubicic. Tomorrow we'll know if he'll play at Basilea

I don't understand why he got so frustrated; it was such an easy win for him. It's kinda funny...and sad...

The word in English is not "infiltrated"; the correct word is "injected"-as in "injected with a shot".

I was there and actually it was quite funny when it happened - couldn't help laughing. As far as I know the toe isn't broken though - he played 3 matches after that and was walking around quite happily - just badly bruised as far as I've been told.

thats what i was wondering....if he had broken it, i dont think he would have been able to play three matches after that. badly bruised though-- can he still play?hopefully this wont keep him out :(

I wonder if the toenail has now died and is coming off. If that's the case, and he has a raw nailbed there, that could be enough to keep him off court for a few days while it toughens back up a little bit.

eh? sounds like masochist??? :o

What a surprise ... Always that David lost he was injured

that's coz he lost some important matches like RG semi, Madrid final or last year's Basel final, etc partly due to injury, so, that's caught you more attention to this problem and think like that :o though i more like to attribute Madrid's lost to Safin's playing too well, not his toe!

Well this time its his own fault so you cant whinge about him having bad luck.

I'm sure that the ATP just forgot to cushion the net posts for the last month. Net posts get nasty at this period.

David! kick something else next time! get well.
