That's a good thing! :)

Rendy needs all 100 points on offer this event. If he takes the title he'll be almost sure a top 100 spot at the end of the season barring injury. He better take full advantage. He avoided Udomchoke, Nielsen, Chiudinelli and Wang in the SF and that's good. Hopefully both De Voest and Ignatik lose before the SF.

Udomchoke d. Wang 6-3 4-6 7-6(6)

Crazy 3rd set, Wang saved 4 mp at *4-5 (0-40 and 40-Adv), also saved 3 bp at *0-3 and then broke at the very next game. In the TB, Wang had *6-4 but lost 4 straight points to lose the match. Good win for Danai, very tough match as expected.

Rendy hasn't done well enough in these challengers he's played. Too many early losses, he should have won at least two or three of these challengers. He should be in the top 20-25 in the race like fellow points-whore Soeda. But he does have over 300 points amassed this season, so he still should finish top 100 with a few more good tournaments.

Weintraub-Ito is a tough match for the japanese (Weintraub lead 5-4 and had a set point in the first set but lost it 7-5)
not it's 4-4 in the second after weintraub lost a brake lead (2-4)

edit 1: The israeli saved a bp to 4-5
edit 2: Ito have great day on serve and he serve his 10th ace to 5-5
edit 3: Weintraub takes the game easyly (on 15) to 6-5
edit 4: Ito saves to 6-6 (deuce game) without any set pints to weintraub
edit 5: Weintraub takes the tie braker 7-3 !

edit 6: Ito takes two tight games to 2-0
edit 7: after missing 2 bp this game it seems over to weintraub.. 0-3
edit 8: two games to Ito to 5-0 and game for weintraub to 5-1 .. ito will serve for the match
edit 9: Game, Set and Match Ito 7-5 6-7 (3-7) 6-1

They really need to give out less points to Asian challengers.

Filo V.

Ito is overranked, but I think his level of overranked is a little less bad than Soeda's level of overranked. At least Ito plays outside of Asia a bit and can win matches in other continents. Ito can probably maintain a top 100 ranking by winning some HC matches in America, a few indoor matches, and then some decent CH results.

It's unfortunate, but I don't know what can be done to prevent this from happening, if the tournaments have the money, they have the money.

I wasn't comparing Ito to Soeda though. I actually think neither are bad players, but they certainly aren't among the world's 70 best active professional players. I do agree that Ito could win some ATP-level matches on non-clay events.

Nathaliia

i think when ito has a good day he totally plays like a #70. he's not overranked here at this moment, just took his luck. many players who also would deserve this place are ranked outside top 100.

soeda at 61 is more
