Since there doesn't seem to be one single thread regarding Pico's 2012 season, I think the best thing is to make a running thread for the entire season that will be updated weekly! I and others can update Pico news, his schedule, and his results on this thread through the entire year.

Pico has a 10-4 record this season and won his fourth career title in Vina Del Mar in late January during the Golden Swing, beating Berlocq in the finals. He won his Davis Cup singles rubber vs Petzschner in early February to help Argentina advance past Germany in the first round of the competition. This week in Miami, he has defeated Lu, Monfils and Roddick to make the QF vs Fish on Thursday! He got an advantageous section of the draw, and with the motivation of the Latin/Argentinian heavy crowd and his own fighting spirit and determination, he has come back from deficits in his last two matches to win them. And with Roddick defeating Federer in the third round, it's opened up the entire section of the draw for Pico to potentially go through.

The H2H between Pico and Fish is 2 all so hopefully Pico will continue his awesome week and make the SF in Miami!

Semifinals for Pico in Miami!!!! He defeated Fish 6-1 6-3 and played a great, tactically intelligent match :yeah: The Latin crowd support in Miami really helped him be extra motivated and energized today, and he was very focused and stayed mentally strong after Fish started playing better in the middle of the second set. Served very well and broke serve 5 times in 8 chances.

Now vs Djokovic vs Ferrer in the semifinals! With the way he is playing this week, anything is possible :)

Pico lost 0-6 6-7(5) to Djokovic in the Miami SF. He fought very hard after being bageled in the first set and really gave his all and deserves credit for fighting back from a set and break down in the match and almost taking the second set by being consistent and playing much better than he did in the first set. Unfortunately it wasn't enough but all in all, it's been an amazing week and he gave a great account of himself on a big stage in the match.

Now he will be heading home to Argentina and preparing for the Davis Cup QFs vs Croatia in Parque Roca. The question is still up in the air as to whether Pico will be the #2 singles player, play doubles with Schwank or be the #3 singles player. We'll have to wait until team nominations are made. In any case, GL to the entire team vs Croatia!
