Having a gut, in dating, to which sex is it most harmful to your chances?

Yup, the dreaded rolls. Having a beer belly. A pot gut. A keg. A few extra pounds. The love handles.

The curves.

Who copes best?

I think, in general, society is quite tougher on women being overweight. I think overweight men are judged less.

HOWEVER,

I see plenty of very overweight women with far far more dating partners than ive ever dreamed of having.

Having a gut, does it turn off women more? Or are men more likely to go for the skinnier option (if there is one)?

Strictly speaking, men are said to be shallower, therefore men with guts should get gfs easier than women with guts..

However..im not sure it works that way..cause its easier for women to begin with. Its not a level playing field.

If you have a gut, a mustache and are an alleged pedophile, most likely, you're screwed. Sadly for you, figuratively.

They're both equally disgusting. I don't mind a slight gut (though I definitely prefer abs :hearts:) but nothing like in the pictures please.

I think fat girls get teased a lot more than fat guys though.

(Can't believe I'm taking this thread seriously.)

Men get away with anything if they have money. Women usually don't build the gut until after they have a stable partner. So if you find a woman with a really big gut that doesn't have a partner it's a major warning sign. She could turn into a whale.

On the other hand many of the women with a few extra pounds are good at cooking and not one of those that mostly live of salad. So depends a bit on what you're after I guess

There is a reason that many of the fat people I know also have fat partners :) It's often a lifestyle thing and having a gut could actually increase your chances to date someone else with a gut. Sends some signals you know

Some women wait to become pregnant to whale out and never look back.

Poor young fathers. That is why so many of them look like they haven't received a good blow job in ages: they are afraid that that Jabba the Hut looking thing that used to be their high school sweetheart would actually eat their penis.

Men have it easier with guts.

Even with Hollywood, you see plenty of shows where you have a chubby guy with a skinny wife. Thinking of Knocked Up or shows like King of Queens.

i dont know
a girl with a pretty face, charming smile and generally well kept in other way than being slim (hair, nails done) gets action for sure too
they are also usually very friendly people, and who doesnt want to be around a funny and caring woman?

i guess it's the same about guys, if they're cool people they'd be getting chicks too

of course slimmer people have it easier, but only at first glance
i think face and smile is what matters most when you first look at someone anyway

and of course, you need to wear good clothes to hide disadvantages. women have it very easy to wear a dress to show boobs and hide the stomach, or show legs if they are better.

Men rate looks first, so it is more harmful for women. The face is more important than the body, though. Sometimes a bit of a gut can look cute on a girl. However, the best thing a woman can do to get approached as much as possible is to look as best as possible. This is why you see so many girls in the gym on the step machine.

Could this thread possibly have been titled more awkwardly?

It reads like one of those laughably incorrect grammar examples in a multiple-choice question in a standardized test, e.g.:

Which sentence is best?

A. Entering the room, the cat, going up to the milk, drinks.

B. The cat, to go up to the milk in the room, enters, and drinks it.

C. The cat enters the room, goes up to the milk, and drinks it.

D. Drinkingly entering the milk-containing room is the cat, who, going up to it, does.

And that's to say nothing of how absurdly disingenuous the question is in the first place.

So long as it is not ridiculous, I don't mind a girl with some meat on her. I'd prefer her to a skin and bones skinny girl every day of the week.

I just corrected you.

I like your sarcastic posts about men and looks of women. It has been proven since many decades that men rate looks first. If you do not believe that, it is your problem. Ever heard conversations of men about women? Usually the first question that pops up is "How does she look like?". For women it is usually "How is he like?". Guess why women spent 2 hours in the bathroom before going to the club. They know their chance is highest, the better they look. That is why a lot of girls look hot in the club, but average on the next day. You also rarely see ugly girls in a club, because they know they have no real chance.

What's with your obsession with clubs? Is that the only place where you get any action? I mean, that's pretty sad. Also, this may be shocking to you, but some girls (guys too, probably) actually go to a club just to have a good time with their friends with no intention of hooking up with random horny strangers. I've seen shit-ugly people - guys and girls - in clubs before (to the extent that I can even make out what they look like in the darkness), so I'm not sure what your point is.

There might be cultural differences, but I do not see a lot of girls getting picked up in a club. Maybe 10% or 20% at most. On student partys the rate is even lower.

Half of the girls here are not ugly. On the other side I have always found German girls to be more beautiful than Aussie girls. This might explain it for you.

I think you are talking about the dancefloor. Unfortunately it is not that easy. Drawing girls is not a problem, but you forgot that girls are not going alone to a club. So you also have to deal with her friends and usually they won't let you dance with the girl so easy. You have to befriend them first, then isolate the girl and build some connection before pulling her home. Apart from this most guys don't have the guts to approach a woman even if she was drawn by his dance moves.

Oh, and he throws in another gratuitous insult for good measure (see below). Are we beginning to see a pattern here?

It's yet another very Christian thing about you. Along with the holier than thou and judgmental attitudes.

One of us is obsessed with talking about my "Christianity," the other isn't. One of us boastfully consigns fellow forumers to hell, the other doesn't. One of us expresses our distaste for certain tennis players in haughty moral language, the other doesn't.

You fit every false negative stereotype about Christians more closely than I could ever hope to.

What's the game?

To start a sex/relationship thread that does not involve sex/relationships. The loser wins.

excessive garbage(like in the opening pics) is undesired for either sex but some women are fantastic even with a few extra pounds around the waist.....some women have blessed upper bodies and they look really attractive even with a few extra pounds down there.....

What in them would necessarily suggest otherwise? Assuming you've missed each of the numerous times that I've made reference to it, I'm not sure why you'd assume either way.

Absolutely, actually, and quite proud of it. It wasn't easy.

There probably needs to be some kind of anti-fan club. Membership would be impressive.

Good for you. A rarity these days.

I find the "anything but" clique of girls hilarious. They do anything but(blow jobs, anal etc.) and say they are virgins till marriage. Fools will believe their own lies if convenient.

Listen Sherlock, I literally said as much:

Why are you trying to act like I'm suggesting otherwise? You're twisting yourself into pretzels, here.

Pride is a sin. Christian me this.

And I do wish I could twist like a pretzel... I can't.

"Flaunt it?!" You troll my post that had nothing to do with you or sex, and call me a virgin; I point out that I'm married, but because you can't just let your gratuitous attempt at an insult die, you come back and insist that I was a virgin until married, thinking that you're still leveling some stinging insult at me.

By merely affirming your accusation while saying that I don't regard it as an insult because I think it was the right thing to do, you say that I'm flaunting it. Too good.

It is pretty good actually. You are flaunting it, you admitted your pride in your hum... accomplishment.

And frankly, you are one to call on people for that kind of trolling... the quote in your sig is not about you, yet there it is. Holier than thou attitude yet again.

What you call an insult is more a fact than anything, and it still stands: your posting style is prudish and screams virginity. I would debate that something so spot-on could be labeled completely gratuitous, but I will admit it was thrown in the conversation.

The fact that you debate it with so much vigor seems to suggest it hit a sensitive spot...

So it is a Christian thing to do to be OK with pride? I don't think so. What you fit, sir, are the real negative truths about American born again Christians: Judgmental and proud hypocrites with an holier than thou attitude.

You know where those people end up. ;)

Pride is a sin. [blah blah blah more repetitive tiresome trolling bullshit]

You don't know the first thing about what this actually means, nor have the requisite moral nuance (not that it takes much ) to understand it if I were to waste my time explaining it to you.

Of course, this is completely unsurprising. You also don't have the foggiest idea what is actually meant by "judge not."

Enough of this, however. I do you way too much credit by dignifying your seething nonsense with a reply in the first place. No more of this.

This thread is a discrimination. What about thick fat legs?...Why do they get left out of the conversation?

And after this judgmentally tainted post, he proudly walks away, with his I'm better than you attitude...

Thanks for proving my point again.

He is.

Every one of your posts in this thread illustrates your utter ridiculousness. You seem to be totally fascinated by picturing seingeist's sex life, talking about it like a small child in a school playground.

Hahaha. The resident Non-Tennis troll comes in. Misses the point completely on purpose and tries to stir some shit.

Do point anything I have written that is about me picturing his sex-life... You'll find plenty that make fun of the hypocrisy of his religious beliefs, but details about his sex life? Unsuccessful Resident Non-Tennis Troll is unsuccessful...

Why did you delete the part about it takes two to tango?
Are you denying your part in the conversation and your little pride about keeping your virginity until marriage?

Creepy, scary. You have gone on and on so much about seingeist's virginity and when it might have ended, that I have had to conclude you are eerily fascinated by that event.

That is pretty lame compared to your usual level of shit disturbing.
