Great win for Becker, he played very well, he had no weakness until 3-1 in second set. Kubot wasn't bad at all, anyway. He came back and served for the second set, had few setpoints too (about 5-6), one on serve when he hit double fault, there was an another one which was net etc.. :bigcry: He also had 4-1 in tie-break.

Łukasz

Becker toughed that out, good fight. Really happy for him here, picking up a lot of points to aid his comeback from that injury.

Q-bot had 5 set points in three different games in the 2nd set + 4:1* in the tie-break and the ball in a comfortable rally

But Kudos to Becker who saved 3 set points with a risky play.

Poor Di . I'm so sorry .

But fantastic clutchness from Becker. Amazing...still don't know how he pulled that out. Congrats :yeah:.

Kubotski

Becker was good at times, but Kubot was horrible. That was the biggest difference tonight.

I don't think Milos will have a problem with Becker if he plays like that again.

WTF happened to Becker's serve at 7-5 3-1? "This is too hard to hit, maybe it'd feel better if i took 20 mph or so off..."

Kubot was horrible.

No, he wasn't. He had fine first set, terrible start of the second also the finish, but he had his good times as well.

The guy wasted every single opportunity he had in the 2nd set to win it and Becker gave him numerous chances. It was a perfect example of failing under pressure.

Yes.. He always does it, sometimes he has serious mental problems. The double fault at set point was the evidence. I just wanted to say that (except the last 4 games plus tie-break) Kubot wasn't horrible at all.

Good to see Becker coming back nicely from injury. Semis here gets him a lot closer to where he belongs.

A rare match in which I didn't mind which player won, as both can be respected. :)

Kubot is a bit of a strange player, but I like how he has got the very best out of his career. A few years ago, I would have doubted that he could perform as well as he has done in Slams, and also make the top 50. Credit to him.

Becker has also maximised his potential, and it is nice that he can earn a massive 180pts from his run this week. It now guarantees him a top 200 finish on the season, at worst, so it provides him with security when the protected ranking runs out. It'll be nice to see him in the main draws again for the grass court season, American summer hard court season and European indoors.
