Did he do the ajde + lawn mower combo at the end of the breaker?

He did it after every service hold.

Didn't get to see it because the stream on the TA website was for Australia only, but I'm delighted with the result. Anyone get to see it? How did the match go?

Hewitt started off pretty well and Zhang was nervous, constantly dropping the ball short and making numerous unforced errors. Then in trademark Rusty fashion he let his opponent hang around in the third, and in turn this gave Zhang some confidence and he began to open his shoulders and go for his shots more. It went on serve until the breaker and Hewitt just held his nerve better in the end.

Thanks! Did Lleyton move well and try to play aggressive (not ripping winners, but playing smart and looking to dictate) or was it just a case of putting the ball in and letting the occassion get to Zhang? Sounds like he served well anyway.

He did in the first two sets but yeah, it was easier for him to do it then when Zhang was giving him junk. His movement seemed to be fine, well as good as it could possibly be I guess.

You've probably seen enough Hewitt matches to play out the third set in your mind :lol: Hewitt goes away from the style of play that got him in front in the first place and begins to wait for the opponents mistake. Against a more seasoned player it probably would have gone 4/5.

Sounds about right! Hopefully Lleyton and Gooch get the chance to finish it off tomorrow.

Hewitt and aggressive play :confused::confused:

As I said, not ripping winners or anything, just looking to dictate the points a bit more/have a bigger say in the rally, stay closer to the baseline and do less running.

Hewitt has become one of the worst frontrunners in the latter half of his career. He almost seems like he wants the other player to come back and make an epic of it. So different to his younger years when he pummelled guys from start to finish (defeating 30th ranked Corretja 6-0 6-0 6-1 was one of my favourites) showing no mercy.
