Kat_YYZ 01-14-2012, 04:30 AM Yay Ferru! :woohoo: cswab22 01-14-2012, 04:30 AM Oliver great week to go into AO. Couldn't be happier by how the way Oliver performed this week. Still admire is game and will to win :yeah: Congrats David djokovicgonzalez 01-14-2012, 04:34 AM no way is he 5'6. 5'9 Ferrer towered over him. Rochus played top 20 this week. Rochus played top 20 this week. he's about 5'4 VolandriFan 01-14-2012, 04:37 AM 3rd Auckland title for Pics :worship: Pirata. 01-14-2012, 04:40 AM Olli is so tiny  Mountaindewslave 01-14-2012, 04:42 AM it's so sad watching Rochus play because it's so clear how great he would have been if taller... I mean a 6 foot tall Oliver Rochus would be a great champion, it's really too bad. all the talent but the height holds him back. Ferrer is looking in devastating form, even better than at last year's Auckland and also appears to be moving fantastically. I already was expecting him to go deep in Australia but maybe more eyes will be on him after his great form in winning Auckland for the third time!! best of luck Oliver, and David: you can beat any player in the world!! show that at the Open in the next weeks!!! :worship: :worship: :worship: cswab22 01-14-2012, 04:43 AM it's so sad watching Rochus play because it's so clear how great he would have been if taller... Still would've been consistent top 20 (and have caused one of the biggest upsets ever and a few other pretty big ones) if he could close out a match GrantOz44 01-14-2012, 05:24 AM Third Auckland title. Always enjoy seeing David win. Knotty Fort 01-14-2012, 05:34 AM The choking didn't help either. Still would've been consistent top 20 (and have caused one of the biggest upsets ever and a few other pretty big ones) if he could close out a match Ironically his height probably has something to do with it. It is just so much easier to serve out a match when you can hit big serves, which is not common when you're 5'4". SelvenluvJo 01-14-2012, 05:37 AM Auckland Queen :cheerleader: Imperfect Angel 01-14-2012, 05:40 AM Winning Auckland 3 times seems to be Ferrer's proudest achievement so far?:p So does he get a full year supply of beer?:haha: Oli is so cute. He's like the guy version of Henin, he speaks like her especially. Pirata. 01-14-2012, 06:08 AM Probably those two epic comebacks in '09 and '11 Davis Cup finals ;) He said Auckland was his favourite tournament, I imagine Barcelona and Valencia won't be too happy to hear that  Sommarsverige 01-14-2012, 10:32 AM Sooo happy Ferru won Auckland again :bounce: :bounce: It really was a great match to watch :yeah: Good luck to David at the AO :yeah: Sapeod 01-14-2012, 10:46 AM If Rochus was around 6'1 or 6'2 he would be a top 10 player easily. David was by far the best player in the draw, so he was obviously going to win this. Never in doubt, to be honest. *Jean* 01-14-2012, 11:12 AM David :yeah: Mae 01-14-2012, 11:19 AM David :yippee: Gillouthe best 01-14-2012, 11:27 AM Nice tournament David. He's the king of Auckland, and he's building nice statics on Hard( 4 titles on outdoor hard, 1 title on indoor hard, apart from F and SF on Masters Cup, along with F in Shangai M-1000 and SF at A.O & USO.) nalbyfan 01-14-2012, 11:47 AM Congrats to both players, nice match Pirata. 01-14-2012, 02:22 PM Nice tournament David. And people still call him a clay specialist  He's defended non-clay titles, unlike Rafa, and he's had his best slam success on hard courts. Orka_n 01-14-2012, 03:47 PM Great week for Ollie but Pics is too solid. Will go pretty far at the AO as well I dare say. Sunset of Age 01-14-2012, 04:17 PM Congrats, David! :hatoff: From what I managed to see of this match (in between the rain delays), Ferrer looked perfectly fine for the AO. What a great week for Ollie, too. Showed some fantastic matches. What a resilience. Like others have said before me, who knows how his career would have developped if only he were a couple of inches taller. LeChuck 01-14-2012, 04:23 PM I have to admit that with Ferrer's style of play, I predicted back in 2005-2006 that I couldn't see him continuing to be overly successful into his late 20s, but boy has he proven me wrong, and it's nice to see him continuing to rack up titles. Naudio Spanlatine 01-14-2012, 04:58 PM HELL TO THE FUCKING YES BABY, FEVERER STRIKES AGAIN:woohoo: :rocker2: :woohoo: FlameOn 01-14-2012, 07:40 PM A good match between two players who aren't pushers but don't miss a lot of shots :yeah:. He is a chore to watch. Hey David a little variety here and there wouldn't do a miss. Dini 01-15-2012, 06:55 PM I wish players were more honest about this. It seems like every tournament they go to, it's their favorite place. For once, I want to hear, "eh, the place is shit." But players will hardly feel downbeat and in a whiny mood after a triumph. When you win everything seems to be perfect. henke007 01-15-2012, 07:08 PM  fran70 01-15-2012, 07:17 PM Great way to start the year for David and with a good draw in the AO to advance to the 2nd week | |
