Freddie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

Finally qualified for a Grand Slam at the age of 28 :worship:. Went close to qualifying last year but Mahut got him in the end after Freddie looked the goods but it's fantastic to see him seal the deal this time around. Very likeable journeyman. Can't comment on the match as I didn't watch it but hopefully he gets a nice qualifier slot and can put in a good match. His performances at the Hopman Cup were decent enough even if it was only an exho.

Yes all you MTF autobots Bolelli is a mug nowadays so no need to mention it.

Good stuff, I always like guys like Nielsen getting a shot in the Slams, he will be this year's Conor Niland.

Superbole is definitively gone
Freddie :yeah: He's been described as an amazing guy, kind with fans, and really, really funny. Good luck in MD ;)

Third time is a charm. Having previously lost in the qualification final of Wimbledon 2007 (to Tomas Zib) and Australian Open 2010 (to Nicolas Mahut), Freddie finally makes it to a Grand Slam :worship: In Danish media, Freddie has said that he is very relieved to finally have made it and that it is probably his most important victory to date.

Would he really want that considering how Berdych destroyed him only like a week ago?

Either way congrats to him :D

I was hoping Freddie's play at Hopman Cup would translate to finally playing a main draw Grand Slam match so this is awesome!

well, considering that it would vault him to around 160 in the world and give him a bigger paycheck than he's ever gotten before i think it would be worth it. Plus its making a little run at a slam.

i just think that freddie is a great guy, i've met him before and im really happy for him. I had hoped he could use the experience at the hopman cup to motivate himself to qualify for his first main draw and he has and now id love to see him get that 3rd round even if it means he gets pummeled by tomas should they meet.

also..id like to think he could fare a little better this time, having learned about tomas's game from that experience.

Awesome result, I'm really happy for Nielsen and I hope he defeats Anderson too! But the thing that makes me happier is, of course, Bolelli not making the MD :D.

Really like this guy. Remember his qualy match against Chiudinelli last year at the US Open - his positive attitude and demeanor on court were such a welcome, stark contrast to Chiudinelli's. Hope the experience and paycheck help whatever is left of his career moving forward.
