WWW AO R1: Haase vs. [15] Roddick

01-13-2012, 02:13 PM
Tough draw for the American.

I think Roddick in 4 competitive sets.

01-13-2012, 02:36 PM
Think A-Rod in 4 as well.

Who cares? Wake me up during the round of 16.

This would be a new low, even for Roddick if he loses this one. Not to take anything away from Haase, but Roddick really ought to win this.

01-13-2012, 03:27 PM
Haase won't win in 5 that's for sure.

01-13-2012, 03:28 PM
Didn't they play here last year? Was a good match IIRC.

On Haase's racket for sure.

Yes, and Haase kept it very close, only to lose because of brainfarting. :tape:
Haase should have a chance. It's quite funny with the guy, he usually does reasonably well against (former?) top players, but has this habit of bolting out against guys he should be winning against...

01-13-2012, 04:30 PM
A-Rod 2-6 7-6 6-2 6-0

story of Haase's life...

01-13-2012, 08:12 PM
Yes, Haase should do some damage. But I'm sceptical.

01-13-2012, 08:16 PM
I hope Haase can take a strong start again against better ranked player, an now not have a brainfart and bring it home. Andy is not too good these days, so an upset is possible.

I picked Haase in 5, but I realize that that would be very unlikely with Haases mental / fysical condition. So Haase in 4 would be the way to win for him. More likely would be the A-Rod in 4 option (but hey; let's keep the dutch hope alive).

if Haase can keep it together then he can upset roddick but i don,t see him doing it! A Rod in 4!

Haase should retire if he loses to someone who looks like this.

01-13-2012, 08:23 PM
I'm so glad he wears a cap all the time...

01-13-2012, 08:27 PM
On Haase's racket for sure.

So you too think Roddick will win?

01-13-2012, 09:14 PM
Haase, known for many chokes in 2011, can win this if he plays even near his best.
Of course he likes to lose even when 2-0 up, so it'll be a tough one. Plus, Roddick will fight to the end and his pride won't let him to lose in the 1st round of a slam.

Roddick will win by 4-6 7-5 3-6 6-4 6-2 :p

Who cares? Wake me up during the round of 16.

Hard core tennis fan here.

Vamos Andy!

01-13-2012, 10:07 PM
haase is the better player so he should take this unless he chokes (again)

01-13-2012, 10:15 PM
Haase in 4 ;)

Haase will choke after leading 2-0.

01-13-2012, 11:46 PM
Hahah... just imagine losing to Roddick while 2 sets up. You know your in trouble (as a player) if you lose to Roddick when leading 2-0 sets, especially these days .

01-14-2012, 08:26 AM
I don't see how Haase can lose this, he actually has the power to hit a winner.

Haase in 4

Haase in 4
I can imagine him being up 2-0 in sets with a break and still lose it

Haase will get close then clown it away with a vintage brain fart.

01-14-2012, 11:40 AM
I would like to see Robin win the Match, but Andy has lots more experience.

01-14-2012, 11:44 AM
Roddick in 5.

If Haase is to win, he gotta do it in 3 or 4. Even against Old washed up A-Rod, he is likely to run out of gas in fifth set:o

01-14-2012, 12:07 PM
Haase in 5

If he doesn't choke he can win this.

01-14-2012, 12:28 PM
If the A'Rod loses, it'll be the end of his hope for his career. Haase never did anything great, he's not a danger for Rod IMO

Courts are slower than last year but the weather is warmer, so expecting similar conditions. Haase defends pretty well so Roddick will probably not have a groundstroke winner the whole 5 hours.

The question is:

a. Will Haase finish the match healthy, thus win?
b. Will he serve good enough to hold easily against the brilliant returner and not offer himself the chance to choke the match away otherwise?

Robin in 4. He has the gane to beat Roddick easily

01-14-2012, 06:58 PM
Here's how I see it: Haase will be up either 2-sets-to-1 or 2-sets-to-none, brain fart to get it to the fifth then somehow get to 4-all and get that one lucky game to break and win the match. Because that's how things go for Roddick at this point - can't even beat the choker when he's choking.

What I know for sure is this will be a painful match to watch.

01-14-2012, 07:28 PM
Last year Robin was totally owning Roddick for the first two sets. I bet he'll lose in 4 again :(.

01-14-2012, 08:02 PM
Roddick will win this after Haase will lead 2-0 in sets and 5-2 in the decider missing 4 mp

01-15-2012, 02:26 AM
Haase is a bad match-up but Andy should pull through.

01-15-2012, 09:32 AM
How much matches did Haase win of his last 10? 2? 3? :]

A-Rod in 3 or 4, no way he would lose in 1st round.

01-15-2012, 11:20 AM
Roddick's only chance in this match is Haase starting to laugh his head off at Rod's haircut.
