I hope Action Jackson won't mind it if I'm going to run this poll this year again.

You have to name at least 5 players or votes won’t count.
It would be much appreciated if you would include reasons for your decisions but it’s not a requirement.
Of course you can only vote once for the same player.

Please make sure before you are going to vote if you have already mentioned your players before.

It's easy to check if you have already posted in a thread. Just click on "search this thread", advanced search and write down your name under "search by user name".

Here is how the points will be distributed:

#1 = 10
#2 = 9
#3 = 8
#4 = 7
#5 = 6
#6 = 5
#7= 4
#8= 3
#9 = 2
#10= 1

Hopefully many people will participate :)

1) Federer - The guy who inspires me to play.
2) Ferrer - Can't help rooting for Ferru, more than anyone else on tour. Takes everything seriously and nothing for granted.
3) Flo Mayer - Super nice, super funky.
4) Dolgopolov - The Dolgo self destruction matches are worth it for the fun times.
5) Nieminen - Again super nice guy and his flat game is sweet (when it goes inside the lines...).
6) Soderling - Love those Swedes, and his aggressive style.
7) Djokovic - Deserves all the accolades he's getting for finally fulfilling his potential to the max and taking Fedal head on.
8) Nishikori - Super cool noob, with a good head on his shoulders.
9) Nalbandian - That 1 match he plays per year with amazing game.
10) Baghdatis - Nothing fancy, I just like his tennis and he seems like a softie.

Not that this is not of the most prestigious :D

It's MTF's own Wimbledon :D

1. Roger Federer - The King of the court  :worship: How he balances his personal and professional life amazes me  And he and his game are so classy
2. David Ferrer - Appreciate his dogged fight, and his fitness
3. Bernard Tomic - Love his game, reminds me of a Hingis with even better emotional control
4. Marcos Baghdahtis - Love his charisma :worship:
5. Juan Martin Del Potro - Very solid off the ground, amazing forehand :hearts: Too bad he got injured for so long :sobbing:
6. Nikolay Davydenko - Too good not to win a slam :( Can't believe how well he played late 2009 - early 2010. His WTF and Australian Open (first 2 sets against RF) were definitely his pinnacle :worship:
7. Andy Murray - Hate his personality :o but love his game
8. Lleyton Hewitt - Miss his old days when he actually playedd well
9. Andy Roddick - Same with Hewitt. He could've won more than just one slam :o
10. Mardy Fish - Good work ethic  Too bad his recent success didn't come earlier in his career :o

Hope Federer continues his domination ;) :bounce:

Players I'd pay money to watch

1. Federer
2. Tsonga - nicest player, seems to have a really good heart and aura about him
3. Del Potro - when he's on, completely dismantles opponents until they're helpless
4. Simon - has done so much with so little
5. Berdych - still a Berdbrain but can beat anyone and everyone when he puts his mind to it
6. Djokovic - despite popular opinion, is not actually evil personified and is a nice guy
7. Monfils - so fun
8. Nalbandian - nobody can construct points like this guy. such a cerebral, creative tennis player.
9. Gasquet - Pretty game
10 Gulbis - this headcase could be a threat if ever he got his head out of his @ss

Nice to see that you included reasons for your decisions :)

nellis_lv
03-04-2012, 01:56 PM
Here's my reasons:

1) Raonic: same temperament as me; the nerdy, mathematical kid w/ an intense secret weapon. i like that.

2) Gulbis: coolest and most genuine guy i've seen on tour; tomic and dolgo only wish they could be as effortlessly cool ..

3) Roddick: an unapologetic American; upfront, puts reporters in their place; an easy target for scapegoat seekers

4) Federer: just classic; one-of-a-kind, legend, never will be another

5) Soderling: power game that's missing at the top; easily ignored by glory hunters but deserves a lot more respect than he's been given

6) Melzer: underrated; never expects more than earned; cool with playing qualies and having only a few twitter followers even though he's top 20 material

7) Ferrer: discipline personified; example of pure will & integrity overcoming the odds

8) Harrison: hard-working and extremely competitive; yet a lot more respectful of his peers, opponents, and the game than most others

9) Petzschner: artist w/ great hands and a beautiful game and personality.. errors and all :)

10) Tipsarevic: philosophical truth-seeker; excellent speaker and mind, even though he overrates nietzsche and dostoyevsky

1) Cedrik-Marcel Stebe - Like his game, he has an attacking instinct no matter the situation and he seems a nice guy. Overall one for the future certainly.

2) David Goffin - Like how he works the ball round the court, and the precision of his strokes. He has a well-rounded game and again seems fan-friendly.

3) Martin Klizan - Love the way he plays tennis and his personality on court should become more well-known as he rises up the rankings.

4) Aljaz Bedene - He's a fighter as well as a tactician which makes him exciting to support as well as watch. I'm intrigued by how he'll grow on other surfaces.

5) Gastao Elias - He gives it 100% and it would be easy for him, being an Iberian, to be an archetypal clay-courter, but he's more than that, he plays well on hard-courts as well.

6) Adrian Mannarino - I think he's exciting to watch with the angles he creates and the way he can polish the lines, despite lacking that power that so many other players have.

7) Thiemo de Bakker - While he's been struggling for a while, his best form is so exciting to watch.

8) Andrey Golubev - When he's on, he's very good, but his games style lends itself towards him being a fun player to root for because of his volatile nature.

9) Pablo Cuevas - I miss him, and hopefully when he comes back he'll be just as good as he was when he got the injury.

10) Leonardo Mayer - He's cool to watch when he's on. Hope he continues to keep himself together.

1. Juan Martin Del Potro

The Tower of Tandil. Love his big hitting game and his general attitude as well and how he keeps fighting to return to the top despite several injuries.

2. Rui Machado

My countryman, and he's a really nice guy although he keeps losing at ATP level.

3. Jo Wilfried Tsonga

Simply the best ticket in men's tennis, most entertaining player. It's a joy to watch him play, especially on fast surfaces.

4. Kei Nishikori

Biggest fighter on tour, hopefully he will catch a break with his injuries soon.

5. Andy Roddick

One of the hardest working players on tour, remained top 10 for so long and won so many titles despite limited talent outside of serve.

6. Tomas Berdych

Love his easy power and attacking big hitting game.

7. Marin Cilic

His game is great to watch when he's on and he's one of the nicest and unassuming guys in tennis.

8. Gael Monfils

Runs Tsonga close for the most entertaining guy on tour, never a dull moment with Gael.

9. Robin Soderling

Huge game and huge balls in pressure situations. Hope he overcomes his illness and returns to the tour as soon as possible.

10. Novak Djokovic

My favorite #1 in a long time. Great game, great personality, great sportsmanship, and he's the first player I've ever got an autograph from.

There's quite a few more I'm a fan of, but if I have to narrow it down to 10, it'd be like this.

Roger Federer has enough points and as long as Doris won't allow the top 20 list he's off :p

Before there will be a Top 20 list I'm going to make a combined list for active and retired players - only to see who will get your 10 points: Marat or Rafa

Here's my Summer 2012 collection:

#10 John Isner - Massive improvement in the last 15 months #respect
#9 Milos Raonic - The future of tennis
#8 Rafael Nadal - Still pretty damn good. If not for the time-wasting and fake MTOs, would have been really high on the list.
#7 Jo-Wilfred Tsonga - Exciting to watch when he's "on"
#6 Tomas Berdych - Unplayable when "on"
#5 David Ferrer - Gotta respect him!
#4 Novak Djokovic - Well, #1 player on the tour and funny / entertaining. Would have been higher if not for time wasting.
#3 Del Potro - The future of tennis.
#2 Dolgopolov - Amazing shot making, may not win a slam but exciting to watch.
#1 Federer - Legend. Must enjoy him while he's around.

Hi Eden, this is for you:

1. Federer (Its hilarious Olderer should be topping this thread since 2006 - especially since he officially turned Declinerer in 2008! - I would be purely biased here even if he's no longer the greatest among active players, just enjoy him on a roll anyday!)
2. Djokovic (lots of respect for the Sauron from Serbia - no one expected him to do what he did last year - he's the dark lord of tennis now!)
3. Delpotro (forehand flamenco! Enjoyed him demolishing Nadal in 2009 USO. Did not enjoy the next match!)
4.Raonic (Hard working boy with big dreams in his eyes - also a terrific server - been a while since someone won tournies based on serve alone , not that he's bad ball-striker- better than Roddick any day)
5.Gasquet (I know he's in my siggy and I should rank him higher but that bias I only hold for Wogie. My other favs don't perform no more. So let these two wonderful players decorate my siggy and there they will remain! :()
6.Nalbandian (Identical reasons and a general headcase)
7.Goffin: (Very gifted player, beautiful ball-striker like Fed, great attitude to the game - hope to see him on main tour more often and win few tournies!)
8.Bellucci: (Long time since I saw a solid clay-court player among the young ones. Tomorrow's Almagro for me. Maybe more, but he'll be very dangerous on this surface in years to come, surely.)
9. Mardy Fish(Very fluid player, interesting character, and most watchable American player for me)
10. Nishikori: (For putting Asia in the top hundred again. And a pretty solid defender for his size.)

Honorable mention: Verdasco: For taking his mentor out in Madrid. :)

Is it possible to change your list, or do I have to wait until next year?

I'd like to add Baker to my list as well so if it is possible to change it, I'll do it as well, please.
