Gasquet was moving quite badly and hit some horrendous errors in the tiebreak of the second set....
so much for his hopes of making top 10 this year :o
good job from from the Qualifier

Not the best match from Richard, he was too passive in most points! Congrats to Istomin though!

I can only hope Gasquet just did a tank job here, to preserve his energy for the upcoming AO. But no way I can anyways be sure of that. :help:

Richard lost that match in the first set, when he was way to passive. He upped his level in the 2nd set, but so did Istomin. When Istomin served for the match at 5-4, he had a first serve percentage of 78. Nerves got also to Istomin and twice he could not serve out out, Richard hitting two direct return winners in the 12th game. Richard gifted the breaker with 3 direct BH errors.
Linecalling was bad for both players.

Gasquet's rally groundstrokes  Guy doesn't seem to have any idea on how to improve himself.

Atrocious, although he didn't even seem to care in the first place.

He said he would like to be back in the Top 10 in 2012 but I think he only likes his life in the Top 20-30, he has not Tsonga's will and motivation for example. It's very disappointing.

But Istomin can be quite good, he gave Rafa a tough fight in 2010 at the USO and Queen's.

Never in doubt. Istomin's backhand is better too.
