Strange desicion taken by Istomin to play here when due to his ranking he could be playing ATP Zagreb or Montpellier the same week .

He said the reason he's playing is because he has Davis Cup in New Zealand soon after and couldn't be bothered to travel back and forth.

I assume Saville, Harris and Kyrgios will get three of the main draw wild cards, All three are still involved in junior events at the Australian open and probably would have been front runners anyway. Patrick-Smith may get the other one.

Chris.
01-27-2012, 11:40 AM
My guess at the wildcards would be Millman, Patrick-Smith and Saville. Not sure about the 4th one.

None of those three you mention are in the qualifying draw but neither are Krygios or Harris.

Kyrgios gave it a decent shot at the AO QD, I'd say. Didn't play the boys' singles event, but did well in doubles. Why shouldn't he get a WC?

ATP has listed Marcos Daniel (BRA) in the qualifying OOP. He is supposed to be retired and lives in Brazil -- WTF would he be doing on hardcourts in rural Australia

I think it's possible that the officials have mistaken him with Marcus Daniell (NZL) who is ranked 729. :o

The commentators on this livestream are brilliant, such Aussies. One of them sounds like he smokes 60 a day.

Millman 6-4 6-2 very impressive he was, very solid from the back, used the serve well to get Jones out of position. Jones wasn't patient and hit too many bad dropshots.

Can somebody help me with very exact score of game number 27 in match beetween Udomchoke and Rieschick ? I have some problems with bookies. I must know this first 4 points of this game, am I right ? I`m saying what I saw on official view from the court, from this scoreboard . Was there 0-30 for Udomchoke and then 30-30 or it was different :)

Hi Nathi
Please, bear in mind that in 2010 he almost didn`t play for eight months and returned back playing Future events (not sure but I reckon he was injured). He dropped in his rankings and was forced to play Future events in 2011 aswell and now he seems to be back (he reached AO MD from Q and now achieved the title in Burnie which will help him to jump in the rankings close to the top 155 if Im not wrong)
