Djokovic only obstacle in Federer slam success?

Do you believe this is a true statement?. I won't say anything to persuade anyone but in my opinion on form of recent Federer is No.2 player in the world but going on the general consensus it's fair game.

Fed's always had the wood on Murray and Fed would cream Nadal on this day and age and we all know the distance of the Top 4 to 6 players are with everyone else.

Lost to Nadal, lost to Tsonga... and his form at the moment still unknown, since he retired in the last event.

Of course Nole isn't the only obstacle!
But he's the most dangerous. I don't fear Nadal, his game sucks for what I saw.

ATM One of the biggest problems is his back, hope you get well, Rog!

No, God mode Mugray is the only thing that's standing in front of Olderer's sweep of 4 slams and OG this year. The Scot made his statement in Brisbane by downing GOATS like Kukushkin and Muller thanks to his superior mental strength and never say die attitude on court. This year, I suspect, is Mugray's year. Olderer's only hope is USO, where the Scot will be tired after sweeping AO+RG+W and every masters title along the way :rocker2: :smoke:

Everybody can be an obstacle in goat cheese's GS road now, even Kinder Bueno (see Wimbly)

Federer may have the best chance of beating Nole, but his chances of beating Rafa are slim.

It's a three-way between them with Novak leading the pack for sure!

Depends on his back. If the back's all right, there's no-one on the road.

Look I'm not saying he is the favorite against Nole, obviously after 2011 Novak is favorite against everybody.

But Federer can trouble Novak the most.

I didn't deny that. All I was saying is that Fed at his best (not likely these days, granted) is sill the one.

i think they are bothering each other, fed is the reason why novak didnt get all the 4 GS in a year and novak is the reason why fed and rafa didnt meet for the first time in USO

There seems to be a rule that Federer and Nadal cannot meet before the final. I read the ATP rulebook, but it's not in there though, maybe there is some kind of addendum to the rulebook that we don't know about? I think Murray will be happy nowadays with the rule.

b/c murry will win against fed in GS the best of 5? i dont think so..

I don't fear Nadal, his game sucks for what I saw.

His game also sucked at R.G. last year yet it was enough to take care of an in-form Federer. Nadal may be declining but Fed has been for years and I have no confidence in his ability to defeat Nadal outdoors any more, except on genuinely fast hard courts such as Cincinnati's & perhaps the U.S. Open's (though not last year), & possibly on grass, fluctuations in form notwithstanding. Form is temporary, match-up nightmares & mental scars are permanent.

we can say the same about nadal's match up with novak

the difference is that novak beat nadal on every surface in 2011 but nadal cant beat rog on every surface.
the H2H is 9-17 right?
what do you think the H2H would have been if nadal would have succeed to reach alot more of hard surface's between 2005-2009? can you tell me nadal would still lead the H2H against fed?

The obstacle is 16 GS. If Fed were at the same stage of his career like Nole he would annihilate the competition.

I agree & I'm sure Fed would have a winning H2H with Nadal if 14 of their matches had been indoors & only 4 on clay. But the question is about Federer's slam success from here, & in that context, Nadal is still a significant obstacle, particularly now Federer has declined to the point it's hard to see him beating Nadal outdoors, & bearing in mind the horrendous mental collapses Federer has had against him in recent years.
