The first week of the 2012 season came to its end. There very a lot of interesting matches. I spent a lot of time home, so I had watched 26 mathes and I would like to pick-out TOP-5 of them. My criteria were entertainment and intrigue.I made a rating:
5.Doha.R2.Gael Monfils(FRA)-Benjamin Becker(GER)7:5, 4:6, 7:5
4.Doha.SF.Gael Monfils(FRA)- Rafael Nadal(SPA)6:3, 6:4
3.Chennai.F.Milos Raonic(CAN)-Janko Tipsarevic(SRB)6:7(4), 7:6(4), 7:6(4)
2.Brisbane.QF.Alexandr Dolgopolov(UKR)-Radek Stepanek (CZE)4:6, 6:3, 6:3
1.Chennai.QF.Nicolas Almagro(SPA)-Yuichi Sugita (JPN)4:6, 7:6(8), 6:4
It's my choice. Do you agree with me? What is your list?

Monfils - Becker was much better than the Nadal match.

I particularly enjoyed Dolgo-Stepanek and Dolgo-Simon.

I didn't watch 26 this week certainly, but the Sugita match was the best one that I saw.

Of the ones I followed - Nadal-Monfils was the best in terms of shotmaking quality - far more to the level of 2 top 10 players slugging it out (even though Monfils isn't top 10 right now...) & the standard you may expect in a Masters Series. But Tipsarevic/Raonic was the best in terms of excitement I guess since it was a long match and no way to know who would take it -stayed close throughout and Tipsy kept saving those breakpoints.

The one I'd rather watch again? Nadal/Monfils. Monfils was on fire and it saddens me that he doesn't play that way always and instead clowns around and wastes his talent so often.

Surely Almagro and Sugita?? I've only seen a small amount of highlights, but even those are epic. Sugita's Sampras smash was beyond epic.

For me it's actually Rogie vs. Tsonga. You're all thinking, the match never happened, but that's just the thing, it was huge, Rogie's back going on him, might not be fully fit for the 2012 AO, this is the most significant "match" this past week.

Proper trolling. Nicely done.
