He seemed to have a revival right at the end of the match, great forehands to close it out. He would slice until Simon finally went to his forehand, hit it heavily crosscourt, and took control of the points from then on.

Good for tennis and me! Now Tomic have to win it, to make it the perfect final!

Dolgo looked good for the most part. Especially in the first set and he was strong in closing the match out. I hope he's fine for the finals and the AO with that leg injury.

Simon was atrocious during the end of that second set.

Dolgo was really sharp first set played great, then tweaked a thigh muscle (?) and that threw him off for a while, but he hung in there and put Simon out of his misery in 2, ending the match with a few good games.

I can't tell if Simon is still in his funk from last season, or Dolgo's game is what upset him so.
Simon likes rhythm and hates slices, so this was never going to be easy for him. Still after rallying early in the second, he just went off the rail in the latter part- going for crazy winners on return when he should have been playing more conservatively and deliberately testing Dolgo's movement after the MTO.

Dolgopolov is playing so well! despite the thigh or leg problem he looked pretty awesome out there.

working the slice well, going for it at the right moments. his movement looks good and everything is smooth like clockwork.

I can see him taking this title but even if he doesn't, great signs for 2012!!! :) :) :)
