Well...
Fed looking sharp the 1st 2 matches, and Tsonga looking weak.
3rd match, Fed looking weak, Tsonga sharp.

So now? Who?

I love both, whoever wins, please, win the tournament

I expect both men to raise their games here due to the quality of the opposition on the other side of the net.

Fed in 2 will be the bookie favorite, but Fed in 3 would be a more comfortable prediction.

Who knows... hard one considering their respective forms this week. A coin toss, but I'd say Tsonga....not sure if Fed is willing or motivated to want to win Doha again.

And judging by the scores in their QF matches today, I suppose there's a reason why Fed could lose this.

Federer cant get a lot worse than today on this type of surface, and I think he will play much better tmrw. Hope so at least, he is a terrible player to watch playing (and winning) ugly.

Federer in 3 is my prediction for now, but I wouldnt be surprised if Tsonga nabs this one. He really seemed to want to beat Roger desperately the last time they played and he will catch a less than spectacular Federer in a ATP250 tmrw. Thats a good deal I think. Either way, feel it will be three.

PS: Enough of this matchup already ATP, dare you to put these two in the same half again :o

These two play for the 4th time in 3 straight tournaments. This has to be a record. If the conditions are windy u have to favour Federer.Tsonga struggled a lot against the likes of Jaziri and Cipolla in the wind. This match could go to 3 sets though just like in London.

I think this match is much more important for Tsonga than for Federer. I'll be very interested to see how Tsonga plays tomorrow, I believe it will be an indication of how much of a threat he'll be this year at the slams.

Is Tsonga ready to make a move? If he doesn't win tomorrow, I'll doubt it very much. He'll probably remain in the Top 10, but he won't be a threat for the top guys.

If Fed doesn't manage to improve his return of serve, he'll end up losing this. I expect/hope for him to be able to do so.

Tsonga has now become Fed's bitch so Federer in 2.

I love tennis. But sometimes it seems like it is the same matches again and again, and unless it is two of the bigwigs (Djokovic, Nadal, Fed), it can come a bit redundant.

That being said ...

Federer in 2.

You think? Even if Rafa is the favorite vs Fed, I think Fed really wants to play Rafito.

Shinoj

Federer will be up for this one. He really wants the Aus Open and this is his perfect preparation and really has a mental edge over Tsonga. Fed in 2 or 3.

At first I thought Feds would lose to Kolya back in the opening round but now he proved me wrong, I say Feds wins in 3.

Probably, I think that too. But I also think Fed wants to play that match.

Well...
Fed looking sharp the 1st 2 matches,
3rd match, Fed looking weak.

I would not say that RF looked weak in match against Seppi. Overally, he played very good match, but somehow and don't know why - he lost his focus many times. That was not bad game from him, it was simply lack of game focus in a moments.

Also Seppi pulled out some great shots during 2nd set and in combo with RF lack of concentration that was enough for Seppi to win a set.

Don't know what to expect in match against Tsonga because I didn't saw any Tsonga match here, but according to results against Cipolla and Jaziri he is far away from his best ATM ...

Federer in two. He's hungry for a snack (small title) before trying to take on the whole plate at Australia.

Rooting for Roger so that Rafa can spank him 6-2 6-3 again and crush that 'streak'.... Going for a nice 6-3 4-6 6-4 for the Swiss GOAT against Jo

if either Federer or Tsonga lose in the real final then that means quite the opposite as that would mean there was an opponent on the other side of the draw better than both.......... :o

I've never seen so many differents opinions in a match that has been played so many times in the last months.

I include my opinion, I see Tsonga winning this in 3, but I don't think Fed is injured, I think Fed's ok and Tsnoga will win because Stronga is gonna show up tomorrow. I don't eat that "Injury stuff".
Whatever... So many different opinions.

Fed in 3.
Ramos was no test for Jo, and probably not a great warmup for playing Rog.
Roger meanwhile has been tested by the mighty Seppi, so even if he had a bad day, at least he's already finding ways to win.
(Seppi will one day be GOAT, so you could look back on today's match as crucial in a way.)

Fed will tank this match to rest for the Australian Open. With a bad back it is insane to try to beat Tsonga and Nadal on consecutive days.

01-06-2012, 02:04 AM
federer shouldn`t play against tsonga.

if he has a back injury , it`s stupid risk in play in a 250 tournament with australia open very close.

the more logical thing for federer is not play.

anyway , tsonga-nadal final it`s a beatiful match

Not sure a back spasm counts as an injury. Depends whether there's anything underlying it. Had his first back spasm during Wimbledon 2003 & that turned out okay, although it was the first indication of the chronic back problem he's had to manage for the rest of his career.

Back spasm or not, this match can go either way.

01-06-2012, 11:42 AM
I don't think the injury matters. I just don't want Roger to burn himself out before the AO. On their day, they can beat each other, so it's very difficult to call. Judging by the last few results you would fancy Federer, but if Tsonga starts spraying balls with his forehand at ease it was be extremely difficult for Fed.

If Federer was 100% i would say Roger in 2, considering the level of play from Tsonga in his first 2 matches. Anyway, i think Roger will win in 3.
