It's ok, I can forgive you not liking the Arctics if you've picked up the Muse bug :rocker2: my favourite band :worship: Knights Of Cydonia is an absolute masterpiece, pure genius from start to finish. I wouldn't say it's my favourite Muse song but it's definitely up there. They have so many :hearts: I have every song they've ever done on my ipod
They are so different from anything I've heard before :yeah:
They were in Australia a few weeks ago for our Big Day Out festival (which I was supposed to go to but missed out on). But they've been on our TV a bit of late because of that which is how I discovered them.

Of course, any excuse for me to post Spurs pictures

*sigh* Thank you, you made my day :lick:

(almost as much as Sunderland made it by beating Derby and Birmingham getting beaten so we are in 4th spot   )

AND Ljubo made the singles final and Andrei the doubles final at Rotterdam... I just had a great read of overnight scores here!!

Dancing Rasta could be dancing for years to come :sobbing:
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I need Nadal to win to get rid of the Rasta! But I also need Tomas to beat him so it will have to be another tournament, I guess I can put up with Rasta for another week

some of us would need to buy a plane ticket to Australia which would make it very expensive indeed! ;)
but... it's worth it ;)

I did that myself.
I seen Adam posted before me and I didn't quote the post I was replying to so I didn't want Adam to think I was calling him a :retard:

If that makes sense. :silly:
 But Joshy, you don't mind calling anyone else a :retard: so why are you sparing Adam? :p

(and regarding msn... no I wasn't really there, I crashed at 10pm and slept right through to 10.30am and forgot to turn MSN off. I think I had a migraine starting coz I was feeling reaaaaally crap last night).

I bet you wanted to hear my national anthem

Hi Peta. :)

As fellow Nico fans you and Lee would have enjoyed TTC's coverage of his losing semifinal effort against Monaco. Brian Webber and Justin Gimblestob were talking about Nico most of the time (sorry Juan) and it was pretty funny. Justin was waxing rhapsodasical about Almagro's talent- saying he had talent oozing out of every pore. But also that he is so arrogant about his talent that he lacks discipline. Justin also said that Nico's biggest fan is himself and that he could start his own fan club. They were also loving when Nico didn't care a whit if he angered the Argentine crowd and were laughing over his guff and "fu** you!" expression at one point. But they kept coming back to his talent and what he could achieve if he had a coach a'la Gilbert or Stefanki. You could tell that despite his lack of discipline and his questionable behavior- they were big fans and were getting a major kick out of him. And even if he is a little ass- I love watching him.

Sorry for any drunken posting that I may have done last night....I think I need a breathalizer to prevent PWI.

I got selected for National Honor Society

Congrats! Like Jess, I was also in NHS in high school- although that may seem unlikely with my frequent bad spelling and idiotic comments on these boards.

  Unfortunately no TTC for me in Australia :sobbing:

I don't know what it is about him. I don't usually like the arrogant bratty type, but Nico just catches my imagination in a way so many other players don't. He also found plenty of time for his fans in Australia which was a big brownie points moment in my eyes :yeah:

I do hope he'll settle down his ways a bit one day, but for the moment I'm happy being a fan of him the way he is :)

All of Adam's songs, Sue's song and Genci's songs are all on my iPod.

Hardcourt MM events don't do it for me. If you got a faster connection, then you will be able to see these matches. Speaking of that the household want to get the net and get as many of us hooked online as possible, cheaper that way.

The Departed is an amazing film :worship:

Hate to be a Negative Nelly- but hubs and I were really disappointed by it. I guess because we both have loved some Scorsese films (Goodfellas is one of my top five faves ever) that we kind of expected more. It had some good points, but I think it is far from his best and I hated the last cheesy shot. In a way- it could be that the film was ruined for us because we set the bar of expectation so high. I actually enjoyed the kind of derided Last King of Scotland more. In part maybe because I heard before that Forest was great but the film as whole was not very good. So the bar was not set that high.

Speaking of Oscars- we watched The Inconvienant Truth today (doc nominee) and it was pretty good. I wish Gore had shown more of that snarky humor to the public during the 2000 campaign. But I have to stop in at the office today and- although I usually walk since it is .75 miles away when I have to stop in during the weekend I am usually pissy and drive. But thanks to the film, I will walk today.

Really? I mean, I absolutely adore Goodfellas, and I wouldn't put The Departed too far behind it. I think both are great. The Last King Of Scotland got amazing reviews here, and I thought that lived up to it. Forest was unbelievably good in it.

I guess there are just other Scorcese films that I like more. The aforementioned Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, and for girly measure Age of Innocence and for I know a lot of folks won't agree - Last Temptation of Christ in all its overdone melodrama. I just heard that Departed was a return to Goodfellas and also 1970s form, but I just didn't think it was quite there. I can see why other folks like it- it just did not mesh for me. But hey- I liked Apocolypto even though I don't like Mel Gibson so I may not be the best judge. ;)

As for Last King os Scotland- there were a number of reviewers here it the US who were complaining that the James McAvoy character was not historically accurate- even though he was never meant to be, but rather a composite character. (I also think that in addition to Forest, James did a great job and would have liked to have seen him grab a supporting actor nom.) For point of interest- one of my brother's ex-girlfriend's family was actually exiled from Uganda during the Asian expulsion and her father was in medicine and had with Ida Amin for several years before they had to leave.

Boy- Tommy was impressive today.

Now I really have to walk to work. :(

I also didn't like The Departed that much.
It was good, but not great. In terms of acting and direction the movie was very good and better than the average shit that is released in cinemas these days. But i think the script is weak in the sense that i didn't care about any of the characters or any of the situations that arose during the 2 and a half hours that the movie lasted.
Also i personally find that the last half hour of the movie was too contrieved and stupid and it practically ruined the movie. The ending was too exaggerated and Scorsese (or whoever wrote it) tried to amaze us with cheap plot twists.
Overall it was a decent movie and it entertained me for 2 hours, something that movies since the 2000's don't usually do

Goodfellas and Raging Bull were both masterpieces, Taxi Driver was a little bit too weird for me though  I felt so confused after. Although I was about 17 when I saw it, maybe I should watch it again.

Well, probably not but you can't have a movie being 100% true otherwise it won't be very good. Braveheart being a prime example of making the most of a true story.

Tommy was ridiculous today, nothing Andy could do. If someone is playing as well as that against him there's nothing he can do.

:yeah: Where does that nickname come from? Something to do with Northern Ireland?

Well originally Syracuse's mascot was the Saltine Warrior aka a Native American in full headdress and all and the school colours were rose and pea green. Eventually in time this became called the Orangemen (and we changed our school colour to be the first school to have orange as it's main colour), until that was deemed offensive to Native Americans and we dropped the men and just stuck with the fruit ;)

Walcott is toilet, it was quite a nice goal but he's got absolutely nothing to his game apart from his speed. He's such a big girls blouse, I've never seen such a wimp on the football pitch. He looks like he needs a big cuddle from mummy. Aaron Lennon is considerably better than he'll ever be.

No, because it's nothing to do with what he looks like at all. I just like him.

I didn't like Glasgow that much, maybe because it seems more like a regular city

But i think that the most beautiful city there (at least from what i saw :p ) is Inverness :inlove:
I think i could go there to retire
:ras: Glasgow is much nicer than Edinburgh :boxing:

Inverness :haha:

Did you meet Paul or Caro btw?

I'll be expecting you :p

No, i didn't. Paul leaves on wednesday, so i still have a chance.
And caro lives here, so i guess someday we'll meet :rolls:

Your bad taste in cities is just slightly better than your bad taste in tennis players :p

Don't worry, i forgive you

I just watched 2 minutes of the oscars and it bored me to death :o

I think i'll record it and watch it tomorrow (and fast forward the dull parts  )

In fact i think that the only think i really like about the oscars is the In Memorian segment

I'm off to watch the Oscars now :D So far all the did was art direction and Maggie had the most boring presenting job ever talking about the award she presented 3 weeks ago. :rolls:

She looks lovely. So does Reese Witherspoon though. :inlove: Okay they're back I'm really leaving.

Well if anyone's wondering, I just turned the oven off when I left and kept the brownies in there, returned and they are yummy :lick: So they finished baking on their own.

Me too. I also like to search "recent deaths" on wikipedia. You get quite the mix of random unusual biographies.

The Oscars are crap the Razzies are for more interesting and best of all Tom Green went to pick up his Razzy award.

I have decided I am on the Roitman wagon. The metalhead and I love this old pic of him.

Jennifer Hudson was in Dreamgirls!!!!!!!! She had all the buzz going into the Oscars. This was her first film, she had come in 6th or so on a previous season of American Idol. When she left AI it was one of those people you thought shouldn't have left so early. She's got an awesome voice. :) She was by far the favorite in that category ;)
