I would give the other 3 to Matosevic, Duckworth and Mitchell. Hopfully someone like Gooch can win the play off.

These r going to be the Wildcards:
- Matosevic (will win WC playoff)
- Greg Jones (will make final of play off and is highest ranked of all Aussies not granted main draw)
- Hewitt (cause he already has one
- Benjamin Mitchell (he is young and a bright prospect, had some good results on futures)
- had probs Duckworth (cause hes young and done pretty well in wc playoff so far)

Guccione lost to JP smith in wc playoff that probs lost his chance for D WC
Groth has been around for too long and is like 22 years old he will be over looked for someone younger
JP smith hasnt been in the TA program long enough, this will see him overlooked
Matt Reid lost first round in WC playoff..

omg, hopefully not. He's a dire player.

Ito and Soeda have much better ranking and would be better options than Golubev imo.

James Lemke would be a complete waste. Nice guy, I'm sure, but really not a worldbeater.

There might be one or two surprises. I think a QWC spot will clear up for Matt Reid so both Lemke and Propoggia could actually make it  Should Luczak not make it into the QD, I would sincerely hope he gets a spot over Lemke.

Kubler will be a certainty should he choose to play. Ball will come into consideration for a WC but whether or not he deserves one is debatable. Isaac Frost has shown good form in the Australian Futures but at 22 he is a Grandpa in Tennis Australia's books. Maverick Banes and Matt Barton have decent chances of getting one and will definitely be ahead of Propoggia. Guys like Klein, Kelly and Lindahl are in Tennis Australia's bad books so they have next to no chance of obtaining one. If Tennis Australia decides to go down the youth policy route (I am refering to Tennis Australia's definition of youth and not the normal standards) don't be surprised to see names such as Andrew Whittington, Alex Bolt, Blake Mott and Chris O'Connell.

Kubler didnt choose to play last year, he didnt take any part of the WC playoff which normally disregards people who didnt play for WC (unless they are injured which im pretty sure Kubler isnt)
I totally forgot about Ball..sadly i have a crappy feeling he will get one...even thought he has done Nothing but drop in rankings. Maverick Banes is a shocking player i watched him play WC playoff, i dont think he has a chance of being there, I did overlook Matt Barton he seems like a decent chance, Chris Oconnel has some good form, he might be chosen...i would disregard Bolt, Whittington nd Mott...i will put together my list for you updated soon

Kubler had a knee injury last year which made him unavailable for Brisbane and the Aus Open. It is the same problem with his knees which is probably why he chose not to play the WC Playoff (hardcourt tennis places too much stress on them at this stage of his development) and I think Tennis Australia would have agreed with his decision to sit it out. He had a terrific run towards the end of this year and if Tennis Australia don't give him a Qualies Wildcard then serious questions will be raised unless it is Jason's decision not to take a WC for the Qualies.

I have actually never watched Banes play but he is in the Tennis Australia setup and had a few good results towards the end of the year so perhaps he has improved. I do not know that much about him though except that he is a claycourter but I think like you said Barton will be a better chance of getting a WC. I agree that Bolt, Whittington and Mott should be disregarded but as long as they are young and in the Tennis Australia setup then anything is possible I guess. I would imagine someone like Mott will probably get one next year if he continues to develop at a reasonable pace but this year is a bit too early IMO.

Another guy who I would throw into the mix but I don't expect to get one is Verryth. If his game ever clicks he could be a terrific player but is inconsistent (eg beats Jesse Levine who was in top form at the time but then two weeks later he comes out and loses to an unranked American in futures qualies). If he was given one he would probably put up a very good fight but unfortunately I don't think he will get one.

Ok that makes sense with Kubler then....totally give him a go then, why not...has far more potential then someone like Lemke of Propoggia.
But yeh i agree Tennis Australia choices i find i totally disagree with alot of the time...but i do think the message is clear when Banes lost in first round of Aus open Q this yr by a triple bagel (or somthing very close to that)
And Verryth tots forgot bout that guy...hes got a massive serve ay....see thats the thing with all our big servers, if they arnt on there game, they can lose to the worst, but can also beat someone way aboue there rankings...e.g. Guccione!

Gonna be intresting who gets the last Aussie WC. Jones failed to get through quallies in Brisbane. John Millman qualified after his first tournment in 6 months and lost in the first round. Gooch lost in the final round of quallies. It might come down to who does best at Sydney.

OK it might be just me being a grumpy old man but your asking about wildcard announcements in various threads is bugging me.

TA have no set times or dates where they will announce wildcards so you just have to wait patiently with the rest of us.

Qualifying Wildcards are rarely announced at all, usually just known once the draw is released or the day before as they wait to the very last minute to see which aussies can sneak in on their own ranking.

Good luck for the oldies: Clement, Schuettler!
French tennis federation could have chosen Clement instead of De Schepper for all his past. Yes, he is quite bad nowadays, but i am sure De Schepper won't pass even the 1st, the best 2nd round.

FFT selects the French wild-card for AO and USO. I also think this WC should have gone to Arnaud, as a former runner-up. De Schepper's results have been quite poor in the last few months.
