I dunno the rules clearly but would a Tipsarevic retirement not be the worst thing for Djokovic. He probably needs a 2 set win and hope for the other result that Berdych doesn`t win in straight sets either

Tipsy is capable of beating Djoker this time around

But as usual he will bend over to his master

Tipsy to bend over quick and suck Djoker's ass.

Normally Tipsy would be given the first set as a bone, but this time the master needs a 2 straight sets win, so Tipsy should be just happy serving his master as he pleases.

Intestinally Tipsarevic has taken a set in all three of their meetings (excluding the one walkover), but has also eaten a bagel or breadstick in all of those matches. He can beat Novak, he just has to be confident.

IMO

They will both retire.

And hence my previous assertion that Tipsy is normally given a set as a bone. and he was already happy with that.

If Djoko loses this (without retiring during the match), and Berdych loses to Ferrer, so that Djoko goes through to the semis on the basis of H2H with Berdych, what do we reckon the chances are of Djoko pulling out and letting Berdych go through to face Fed instead?

I just feel he wouldn't want to finish this year with a three-match losing streak, which is what would probably happen in that scenario. He almost certainly has some small injuries he can talk up.

Tipsarevic can't qualify so expect a quick, tireless two set fix.

He can get $120 000 which is about a tenth of his earnings this year. He can get 200 bonus ranking points, which is more than he gets in most tournaments he plays. He can get a win over a number one player, and realistically he will rarely have the opportunity to do that.

I think there's plenty for him to play for. Whether he does or not is another matter. He is a bit of a headcase.

NID Djokovic 6-4 6-4 so Tipsarevic will avoid a fine for not trying.

Dunno. Mysterious as yet. Intrigue surrounds this match. A veritable whodunit, really.

doesn't Tipsy get 200 points for a win? Don't think he'll give up without a fight. If Djokovic plays like he did yesterday, Tipsarevic could beat him in straights easily

This match is pretty irrelevant.Djokovic can win and still not make the semis but also can lose and still qualify.
The group will be decided by the other match

Tipsarevic in 2. Early Christmas present of 200 points by Nole. He's probably feeling sorry about that Berdych match, so he's gunna cheer him up very nicely. How sweet of him <3. 6-4, 6-4.

Can someone confirm this below, seems like a strange scheduling decision:

Actually, if Ferrer plays after Djokovic, then Djokovic would have to lose his match in order to make sure that Ferrer doesn't simply tank his match by virtue of having the first spot handed to him with a Djokovic win!

The only scenario where Ferrer finishes 2nd in the group:

3) Regardless of score, if J. TIPSAREVIC defeats N. DJOKOVIC and T. BERDYCH defeats D. FERRER, then T. BERDYCH wins the group and D. FERRER qualifies 2nd.

^ Well, by the same virtue, if Ferrer plays first and he beats Berdych, Djokovic doesn't have to do anything in the match against Tipsarevic. He can lose it 0-6, 0-6 and still qualify for the semis.

But regardless of whether Djokovic wins or loses, it will still be a toss up who qualifies between him and Berdych depending if Berdych wins and in how many sets he does it. Djokovic-Tipsarevic going first adds more excitement to the Berdych and Ferrer match. While if Ferrer and Berdych goes first and Berdych loses, Djokovic-Tipsarevic match will be a non-factor going in.

Djoker gives Tipso 150.000 $ for him to give him the match.

if Tipsa wins (say 2-1) and Ferrer beat Berdych (say 2-1) who goes throught in the semis ?????
Tipsa will have 3-3 sets, Djoko will have 2-4 & Berdych 3-4
Tipsa will have highest % of sets won !!!!!!!!

As long as Ferrer beats Berdych, Ferrer and Djokovic qualify for the semis. Sets doesn't matter because Djokovic beat Berdych so if they're tied, that will break the tie.

Djoko still thru, because Tipsa is eliminated first playing less matches than others. And bewteen Djoko and Berdych H2H in group decides, which Djoko won . All scenarios are here :

If Djokovic loses one set it doesn`t matter if he wins the match or not.But winning 1 set will put pressure on Berdych to win the match vs Ferrer in straight sets.

If Djoko loses and Berdych loses, Djoko is in SF.Winning only one set does not put any pressure on Berdych, beacause he may win in 3 and still qualify. Only method to put Berdych under heavy pressure is if Djoko wins 2-0, then Berdman has also win 2-0. All scenarios are here, we dont have to invent it ourselves

Tipsarevic has much to play for here. Money, ranking points, and confidence at beating Djokovic are all very much at stake here. Djoko is here for the taking. Why would Tipsy tank? Tipsy may lose, but he'll put up a fight, he doesn't get destroyed by Djoker when they meet, not like Troicki who bends over and accepts bagels and breadsticks with pleasure.

I can't believe i'm saying this, because they are two my favorite players, but i hope it hapens the scenario where neither of them will qualify for the semi-final (although Tipsa is out already)... I don't want to watch any more matches with Djokovic in this kind of form... This season should finally end for him...
