In Paris Fed won 6-1, 7-6. Here this match can be closer, for sure

Pirata.

Roger will win in 2, I think.

Tsonga in 2.

No way will he start as bad as he did in Paris and I think he'll take his chances better here.

I hope and expect Fed will take this one for himself, but very close, something like 75 75.

It would be funny to see Kinder Bueno eating a piece of goat cheese in London...like he did in Wimbly...

Routine win for Fed.

Surface is definitely faster than in Paris so Tsonga will have a better chance.

7th meeting this season. How crazy is that considering they've only had 3 meetings in all those years before?

Fed in 3 sets.

Considering his recent form, Federer in 2 relatively easy sets.

Surface is definitely faster than in Paris so Tsonga will have a better chance.I'm not sure it will be faster at all. Hasn't the WTF been low bouncing medium/slow these last years? But in either case I doubt it will matter much. Fed is as aggressive as Tsonga in this matchup.

I'm not sure if it's actually faster, I think Fed said it was comparatively faster, when compared to last year's big difference between Paris and the WTF. Who knows what the court's though, they have to build it in such a short space of time.

Hopefully a stress-free win for Fed. But I'm not counting on it :p

Fed-Tsonga was the last ATP tour singles match and is also the very next one. Wonder if that's happened before. I guess Verdasco-Raonic had a similar deal earlier this year, but surely there were other matches played in between.

It'll be closer than in Paris, but the greatest player of all time will ultimately win.

Yes, but supposedly it's a touch quicker this year. Whether deliberately, or by fubar-itude, who knows....

Kinda amusing if Basel and especially Paris slow down to match WTF ..... and WTF promptly speeds up.

Actually, that exact same thing happened in Asia, now I think about it. Last year Tokyo was fast as ****, and Shanghai was slowerthanass. This year Tokyo slows right down to better match ........ and Shanghai promptly decides they don't like being slow anymore and are now pretty quick.

If the courts are playing quicker, that's advantage Tsonga, because he can dominate more with the serve, and avoid hitting backhands. If the court is average speed or slower, Federer will win comfortably.

Tsonga will need to serve big and take advantage of Roger's second serve. Or else he has very less chance to win this match. Federer is clearly the firm favorite to win it. I published my thoughts on both the matches, here (http://harrymann.wordpress.com/2011/11/19/barclays-world-tour-final-2011/).

Federer should win in two if he plays like in Paris. :)

I kinda think Federer is due for a bad match, but still Fed in 3

GOAT = Fed

Probably Rusterer in 2 sets with maybe a tie-break mixed in.

Something like 7-5, 7-6.

I think Roger will win in 2, but it will be close. A win would put Tsonga as his pigeon(6-3 H2H, 4-2 in 2011)

Clownga should bother playing only for a set and pack off after that.

Come on Roger, do it ;)

Clownga assumes the position once again.

yeah, it isn't as if the guy has ever beaten Roger, much less in a GS

If Tsonga wins this match Feds dream is over about reaching the semis.

If Tsonga wins this match Feds dream is over about reaching the semis.

There are different factors which decide the players who reach the semis. One player can finish with 2-1 record and still miss the semis while other times a player with 1-2 record can make it through.
Until the 3d matches to be played nothing will be decided and it wouldn`t surprise anyone if it will come down again to sets won/lost or even games.
So regardless who wins/loses this match both guys will still have chances.Certainly if one of them wins in straight sets he will be big favourite to reach semis

Fed often starts tournaments rusty, it is not problem for him in regular tourney where his 1st opponent is unseeded Mannarino or Nieminen, but Tsonga is top10 and more dangerous. I expect closer match than in Paris and Tsonga to steal a set from defending champ, but Fed should still win. My wild guess is Fed in 3.Fed also knows that winning at least a set may be hugely important if 3 players finish the group with 2-1 result. He may lose if he is not 100 % ready, but he cant afford to lose 0-2, it would be disaster.

This match will be the key for both players chances to reach SF. I think that Rafa will beat Roger and Jo Wilfried so the 2nd SF spot will be between then. Nice way to start the WTF.

Not sure about that.
Tsonga goes to the net more often and above all, faster surfaces adantage his game even more than Federer because Tsonga can't win long rallies against top players and his serve (which is the key part of his game) is more efficient.
