How long do you think it'll be until we have a year with 4 different slam winners?

The last time we had a year where all four slams were won by different players was 2003 (Agassi, Ferrero, Federer, Roddick). Now that we seem to be in an era where a select few players dominate, when do you think it'll happen again?

i dont see delpo retiring anytime soon so its going to take a while before you see 2 diffferent slam winners in the upcoming years let alone 4.

rod laver had it more easier to win 4 slams in different slam tourney, but it a very difficult task to achieve something like what rod did, but todays game its much much more difficult because the game is at another level so i dunno if anyone is gonna achieve something what rod laver did in 2 years

hehe good question, tough to answer for sure.

for some, disappointing, would be to have novak, rafa, fed and murray win them next year.

anyway, top 4 as solid as ever, incapable rest and lack of young stars, make it not as unlikely scenario.

I honestly miss those times when we had 4 different slam winners. Tennis was extremely interesting back then.

I'd like to see a year with 4 different slam winners but i think we will have to wait some years for that to happen

I say 2012.
Nole won't be able to dominate as this year, Federer will get another slam I'm quite sure, Nadal should win RG and finally it should be time for Murray to win a slam, I think.
Maybe also Tsonga wins a slam instead of Murray but I think these 5 are the only contenders for next year (at least how it looks like right now).

Yeah but if he gets on a hot streak (and has a favorable draw of course) it's definitely possible I think.

2012, unless Djokovic can hold off Brands in the USO final, in which case Djokovic would win two

I wish we'd have a year with 4 different Slam winners. It'd be nice if it happened in 2012 but I'm not banking on it.

Maybe even next year why not. If somehow Nadal starts to play on clay like he used to he is No.1 favorit for RG, and Roger, Andy or Delpo- USO probably should have chance to sneak some slams away from Nole. So it can easily be something like AO- Murray, RG- Rafa, Wimb-Roger, USO - Nole

I'd love if there was a year where Roger, Rafa, Novak and Andy all won a slam each - that'd make things super interesting.

...and I think it's possible. I think Roger could still win Wimbledon, in fact i'm really not sure what happened in that loss to Tsonga this year. Obviously Rafa can win RG, and you'd think Novak and Andy both have a chance at the HC tournaments.

the number of different slam winners is not what makes tennis exciting. wta had 4 different winners this season (i think). did it make it exciting? no, because they had 4 winners due to ridiculous mugginess.
quality is what matters, not the names.

I would guess it to happen between 2014 and 2018. I think Djokovic, Murray will still be good then but losing their consistency. Nadal and Federer if still good wil also have lost their consistency. Can see Delpo getting back to his best or an other few young guns coming up but no multi year multi slam winners amgong them in those years.

Only contenders for a slam until 2016 are Nadal and Djokovic.

It's good for the game when you have two absolutely dominant figures and no-one else has even got a sniff at a slam, or at beating them generally.

2014 Djokovic and Murray will be on serious decline and Nadal almost gone outside clay. We'll see if any dominant force will appear, I expect it to be a super bad mini era like the one from 98-02, old legends winning one slam here and there, very avarage youngsters collecting the rest. A healthy Federer at 33 will also ofcourse be in good spot to sneak his way to win slams from the likes of Tomic, Raonic and company. Maybe some slam like the AO will be to old Federer what it was to old Agassi.

Couple of excellent predictions on here. Many people balked at the notion of either Federer or Murray winning a slam going into 2012. Unreasonably so I'd say, a lot of it was hater talk, but still very good predictions nonetheless.
