Rog expects Murray to be big trouble at this years WTF, while he sees Djokovic as tired but possibly a strong contender with the time he has to recover for it. He briefly mentions the other guys as possible "Davydenko's" this year, then mentions Nadal as an afterthought.

Mindgames? Piling on the pressure on Murray is a clever ploy methinks. Underestimating Nadal? Dismissing him with a one liner "tough customer" comment is genius.

Discuss.

"I do believe if Djokovic is fit, and Murray fit as well, which it seems like he is, they are also going to be difficult to beat.

"And Rafa, regardless how he is going to be, he is always a tough customer. So I think it is going to be a really good World Championships."

Bit of a non-story old boy. Nadal is notoriously shit indoors, as attested by the fact that even Roger regularly thrashes him.

Even so, Nadal was the finalist last year, gives no end of trouble to Fed regardless of it being indoors and has Fed not heard Nadal has been doing super secret intense indoor training!? I mean really.

At the moment Federer and Murray are the two best players indoors so it's an understandable tactic by Federer.

Tough to say about Nadal anything at this point as he hasn`t played one match indoors this year.Sure he could make finals like last year but he could also lose all his matches in the group.Without seeing his first RR match from him, there is nothing to say really

 Lay off the dope Rog. Murray a major threat on a faster style indoor surface? With what? His running around like a chicken with his head cut off 2 miles behind the baseline just getting the balls back in play while the big hitting opponent just bludgeons the ball to death every time? You still have to be the aggressor to win the YEC.. That really hasn't changed.. EVER.

He should just say what he really feels. He should hope Djokovic and Nadal aren't 100 percent and ready to play.. You really think Rog is worried about Pusher Mugray? ROFL

Lay off the dope SetSampras. Federer is just trying to add a little extra pressure for Murray, who has the high expectations from the british crowd as it is. Just some mind games from Federer, he knows the game inside out.

As for the thread title, what is there to mention about Nadal? Last time Fed and Nadal were in the same draw was at the US Open. Nadal´s indoor form is anybodys guess at the moment.

Murray will be lucky to even make a final to play Roger if hes going to bring his "Pusher Paris" form.. A big hitter like Berdych could smack him off the court like he did under even slower conditions in Paris.. Roger can easily smack him off the court under faster conditions. Murray's serve his a HUGE liability as his lack of aggression and ability to easily get frustrated. Thats not changing.. Thats who Murray is today.

ROFL Someone changed the thread title.. Well Sampras is the standard for the YEC and played when there were actually GOOD aggressive indoor players like Agassi and Becker etc. Not backboard non aggressive pushers like Murray hanging around

Andy is only real threat to beat him, unfortunately. Nole is not well. If he was on that court everybody else would be playing for second. Federer knows this, but as usual his luck never ends. Atleast its not a slam, with Novak and Rafa not at their best.

I still think Andy will win it though.

He's technically right. Andy Murray is fresh near the end of the year. Djokovic is going through injury, Nadal doesn't play his best on this surface, the match is technically in Murray's home environment (gets crowd support), so he is right. Of the consistent players, Murray, would be the toughest.

Btw, why have the points from last year's WTF come off the rankings? WTF is next week.

Because the WTF draw will take place this week, and last year's WTF points don't count for this year's race. So the points have to come off a week early in order to have the top 8 in their proper rankings for the WTF draw.

Also he's correct about Murray; Murray is, alongside Federer, the favourite to win the title.

Come on now Muzzah, just do what Djokovic does- praise Fed in order to praise yourself. Djoko always calls Fed the best player ever right after he's beaten Fed. Like "Even though I have good head to head against Rog, he is the greatest player of all time and has won the WTF 5 times(damn, beating him more often then not, how great am I?), so it will definitely be tough for me. Fed's always the favorite."

Rog hates that shit. He wants to choke Djokovic when he does it. It's the best way to counter Rog's mind games.

Olderer knows he can use mind games to make Mugray lose even before hitting the first ball. He's probably relishing the thought of playing him in the finals, because Mugray in the final of the big stage = huuge clown.

He doesn't mention Nadal because he's still bitter about getting thrashed for the 4th time in his career in Paris. That was his big chance to prove RG 2009 wasn't a fluke. And he failed.

Good tactic by Federer to put some expectations on Murray; the more the better. Djokovic thrives on the fear of the other Top guys; Federer is basically saying he doesn't fear anyone except maybe Murray so its a bit of a jab at Djo's confidence along with a jab at Nadal, who's condition is in great doubt.

Then again Fed could just be talking truthfully as usual and he's pretty much right anyway. The truth hurts. :p
