Paris R3 Isner routines Flopez 6-4 6-2

Lopez couldn't serve for shit and his game broke down. Isner was very clutch and hit some good shots especially one passingshot to set up setpoint in 1st set. Sometimes he gifted some points when 30-0 40-15 up but was clutch at important moments.

^^ What he said. Total garbage from Lopez, but kudos to Isner for taking full advantage.

Lopez has enough game to handle Isner's big serving and he actually got to deuce in 3 of Isner's service games in the first set. His own serve was at a low percentage in the first set but he still wasn't tested in most of that set, until the last game, at 5-4*. Starts it with a double fault, gets it to 30-30, then Isner plays a very good point and hits a good passing shot to bring up break point, and Feli finishes it off with a double fault.

In the second set, Lopez again took Isner to a deuce game, but failed to break. Then in his next service game he couldn't find a serve and missed two consecutive volleys, which had been his strongpoint throughout the match. The rest was inevitable. Isner was just stronger in the big moments.

Lopez was pathetic tonight, played right into Isner's hands.

Less than 40% first serve for Feli :o

What the hell happened, his serve used to be his best weapon.

Shocking scoreline  But very good for Isner who saved a lot of important energy before the Pics clash.

This has worked out so wonderfully. First, Feli took out the trash in beating Monfils but now he lost to my love Johnny boy Isner. Well done, John and thanks again Feli for sending home floppy hair yesterday :yeah:

First Masters 1000 1/4 for Big John and this sad two tennis days are finally over.. maybe it will not be better even in 1/4

The difference is that Big John plays intelligent shots and used some great dipping shots for passing shots. Mugfils tries totally dumb shots. Both Gael and John have physical gifts. John's gift is his strength and his height and Gael is pretty strong too and very athletic. I think John has a little bit better touch though.

Good stuff Johnny boy.

Oh John!! I'm so glad for him. Even so Feliciano didn't play good and served badly, Isner was really good in this match. Well done!! :worship: :yeah:

Less than 40% first serve for Feli :o

What the hell happened, his serve used to be his best weapon.

how could you lost against this, Monf

Lopez must have had a late night with Verdasco to get broken like this against Isner. Maybe Fernando will rub him down in some hot oils tonight to take the pain from this loss away.

Impressed by johns passing shots. A guy that tall shouldnt could do that.
Unexpected the way lopez looked like earlier in the tournament. As they said
its a surprise every day.
Lopez should have volleyed little better though.
