Becker hasn't played since the second week in April after having an operation on his left elbow, and is now ranked #253. But now he's back, and will play the final challenger indoor events of the season, and have a PR for next season, starting in Australia.

I know he has a lot of fans and detractors on this forum, so you can all leave your thoughts about these developments.

From stats, looks like opponent is just as serve-based as he is (or more) so hard to read them.

Ortisei has real carpet courts and are very fast and low-bouncing. Becker isn't a good returner even when 100%, so no surprise the return stats aren't great.

Benni broke for *5-3 in the third, got broken and broke back to 15 to win the match.

Yes! Great Job! Benny. But Filo, why has hea PR Ranking now.I thought you have to be out for 9 months

ATP Rule Book: "A player may petition the President, or his designee, for an entry protection
when he is physically injured and does not compete in any tennis event,
including Special Events – Exhibitions, for a minimum period of six (6) months. The
written petition must be received within six (6) months after his last tournament."

The PR lasts 9 months and/or I think 12 tournaments, so you might have gotten the months mixed up, it's only 6 months out to get a PR.

Benjamin Becker the man who put Agassi down for the count. Good to see him back, he was a sturdy top 50 player for a while, which was a huge accomplishment coming out of Baylor and also being a public parks player in S. Florida, he used public parts as his practice courts just a few years ago. Good to see him back.

The polish is a sick ballbasher, who possesses an unbelievable serve (230kmh) and a big forehand. And he volleys well too. I was really impressed by him, no idea why he isnt a lot higher in the rankings.
It was a really good match and I'm happy Becker came out as the winner.

Well returned BenJi. Hasn't got much to frown about, got alot of tennis years ahead of him considering his lack of tennis overall. You might say he is technically younger than Nadal. Hey, I'd be the first to observe that technicalities have their flaws.
