I will go to Wimbledon next year from Istanbul, so i need some advices. It will be my first grand slam tournament ever (i don't think i have a time to hanging around because of tennis, lol). So i got really excited. I'm thinking about first week ground pass actually.

I need a hostel. (hotel would be very expensive for me i think) But i don't want it in dormitory style. There is a possibility that my friend/friends will come too, so it could be room at the same time. For sure i want near hotel/hostel to Wimbledon but even if this is not possible, it really shouldn't be too far away, because i know that in Wimbledon tickets are selling out in the early morning, so i should be early in queue. (i just want clean and economic, i just need bed and bathroom)

I have open for other advices too for sure. Help me! :)

Ground passes don't ''sell out'' in the early morning. You won't get it until you are at the turnstile - so expect to queue for about 6 hours every day.
I would never go near Wimbledon without a pre-bought ticket. You are treated like you should be grovelling for whatever they throw you.

Pre-bought ticket? Is it possible?

6 hours?! Surely you've either had a very bad experience or are exaggerating. This year I got there by 8 am and was at the grounds by 11. Similar times when I went in '09. Didn't find it unpleasant either, you can sit down whilst waiting for the queue to start moving and have your own mini picnic. And once it starts moving, they give free strawberries and mini evian bottles along the way... :p

HI folks:

I posted in main forum and then i searched and found this thread. Any more advice on the queue @ wimbledon 2012? i may be in london that 2nd week and that 2nd monday it is likely i would be available to try the queue

how early would i need to get there? Is there some advice from recent visitors based on their experience? So far only buddyholly has provided insight, so i would love to hear from others who have experienced it.

Thanks!
