Another slow start from Kei. 1-2* :o

This is their first meeting since 2007, when Kei was still 17. They played twice that summer and Kei beat Gaba in Washington before Gaba beat Kei in Montreal qualies.

OK, Kei beaks back. 2-2!

*bunny*
09-27-2011, 12:51 PM
3-2*

Streaming freezes a lot. :o

minh
09-27-2011, 12:52 PM

*bunny*
09-27-2011, 01:02 PM
Gaba is hitting really hard and going for winner at every opportunity.

*bunny*
09-27-2011, 01:03 PM
Gaba is hitting really hard and going for winner at every opportunity. :(

And he breaks. 3-4* :o

*bunny*
09-27-2011, 01:21 PM
Kei dropped the first set 3-6 while I was restarting my PC. :o

Second set *0-1.

*bunny*
09-27-2011, 01:30 PM
1-1 2nd set

come on kei, you can beat him

Yeah Kei beat him when he was 17...!
But it looks like Gaba is very confident today after winning his qualifying matches very easily and getting used to the court in the process.

misty1
09-27-2011, 01:31 PM

misty1
09-27-2011, 01:34 PM
he got it to 30-40, if he just could have held on he's playing such a pathetic head case that it might have swung the momentum his way

gaba stops the bleeding, kei will serve for the 2nd set at 5-4

*bunny*
09-27-2011, 01:59 PM
That's the difficult part, serving for the set, for someone like Kei who can't always rely on his serve...

*bunny*
09-27-2011, 02:01 PM
Good first point, nice defence. 15-0

misty1
09-27-2011, 02:03 PM

09-27-2011, 02:24 PM
Gabashvili called a trainer?

misty1
09-27-2011, 02:26 PM
for a real issue? or because he's lost 8 of the last 9 games and he wants a moment to regroup

misty1
09-27-2011, 02:28 PM
4-0 kei

*bunny*
09-27-2011, 02:29 PM

Don't know. Streaming I'm watching is from a fixed camera so they didn't show what his problem was.

What was that? Kei went to the net to shake hands with Gaba, but Gaba went to shake hands with the umpire first and then shook hands with Kei and had some chat with him near the ump's chair. Did he have any complaint against Kei?
Never seen that before.

misty1

Thanks for the livescores Rafkei! But I hope you get to see his matches live next time, this one was quite exciting.
By the way i am just relying on live scores, don't have any live streams :(
Have you try livescorehunter?

I think this is one of the most entertaining match involving Kei for me this year, and to top if off he won!
I started watching from the 2nd game before leaving work and didn't leave the office until Kei won, plenty of good points from both players.
The final set was the most exciting, the crowd was roaring so loud in the final few games especially when Kei wins the point. :)
Now I really wish I'm in KL to soak up the atmosphere.

*bunny*
09-29-2011, 01:55 PM
Yay he won! :D

Thank you Rafkei for all the point updates! :yeah:
I saw the second set in bits at work but I couldn't really concentrate on it so it's nice to know how the match developed. So he was up a set and break and let Petzschy back into play! ...O well, it's OK because he won in the end.

I wish I could've seen the match in its entirety because it really seems a fun match between two creative players. :)

Kei will play Almagro in QF. Good luck! :yeah:

Me too, i am really planning to go there next year to watch the Open, i do hope so Kei will be there again. Maybe we could all go! haha

But still happy for a Kei win! :D

how's he looking bunny?
he's been quite patient but attacking at the right momen. He's winning many of the long rallies and his drop shots have been effective. he came back from a break down in both sets.
Nico was holding more easily until the middle of the second set but maybe the momentum has shifted towards Kei now. hope he holds on! :)

good to hear

to be perfectly honest i was expecting a straight sets loss after how that first set ended

the tiebreak was so weird with nico going up the early mini break then kei winning 5 of the next 6 points and then dropping the last 4 to lose the set

misty1
09-30-2011, 01:18 PM
nico is a fighter, he wont just go away like gabashvili did

i wonder if kei can hold on to a single break for the entire set

Just hope he'll hold on to the break though!

Just a tad worried about all the three setters he's playing.

10-01-2011, 02:46 PM
So Kei lost to Tipsy for the fifth time this season.
Did anybody see the match? I was out all day so I couldn't see it...

I remember Juan Carlos lost to El Aynaoui the first five times they met, before beating him for the first time in 2003, in Canada.
Hope it will be the same for Kei!

Hey bunny, I pretty much watched it from start to finish...
I felt Kei was actually faster off the blocks and started better.
But it didn’t take long for Janko to find his range and from the 4th game he was holding serve easier than Kei and got the critical break to win the first set 6-4.
The level was high and Kei played just as good if not better than the previous 2 matches that I watched this week. But Janko always seems to finish off the last point better especially at the net.
Kei probably lost a bit of focus in the first game of the 2nd set, I think he was broken to love…but later he had 0-40 on Janko’s serve, I think 5bps in that one game to draw even and still lost it.

Janko summed it up at the end when he gave a quick interview, his game just doesn’t suit Kei in many ways.
But I hope this doesn’t become an excuse for Kei, because I think he can overcome and get the better of Janko someday.

I don’t think there's sign of the P45 demon and (touch wood) he’s healthy which are positives.
Reached the semis and lost to the eventual winner, so overall still good results.
He’s playing back home but against Ferrer…good luck Kei!

PS sorry to hear you're not free on tuesday, but enjoy the doubles tomorrow.
