Stebe - Monroe 2:6, 7:6(6), 6:0

Hehe, Monroe was so close to win this (probably match points??) and then totally collapsed after losing that 2nd set tie-break.

Stebe still has some work to do to become a good hard court player. I guess it was a good choice to play these easy Asian hard court tournaments, to get some practise. Probably better than qualifying for US Open main draw and getting destroyed there in the first round.

Blegh, Jamie. Good effort.

Weintraub can maintain his ranking by playing these weak events.

this month he has no points to defende so he should gain points ,but in october-december he'll have to play good to save his ranking

he'll probably enter again the top 200 after 1 week
his next match is vs canadian Q Erik Chvojka (270) and amir should make his second semi of the year

Would not have made much of a difference had it been in a different week. These Asian Challengers always have the same predictably weak field. Nothing wrong with that, but it's just not a very interesting field altogether.

Rainer blew it by losing to the Finnish dude. Probably should have back to back titles because there isn't anyone standing in his way looking at this lineup that would have beaten him. But at least Stebe should win this event, which gives it some credibility. Too bad Gaba also lost to some no-name. Both he and Rainer ultimately failed to capitalize on these two easy events as much as they should.

great week for amir already and he'll gain a new high ranking next week (great confidence before the davis against Canada )

his first challanger final was in Bukhara (UZB) there he lost to Istomin after taking first set

his opp. Stebe lost two challenger finals (one this year and one last year) so amir want to keep Stebe's record without a title

Challenger title #1, great breakthrough and victory for Stebe :) Very happy for him. Now that he has a title in the pocket you have to think the pressure will be off and he'll many more to come, or at least one more to get into the top 100.

He's about 1-2 good events away from the top 100 now so hopefully he backs this result up with a good result in this upcoming Asian event.
