Which Rof16 match are you looking forward to the most?

06-26-2011, 01:26 PM
Some really good matches. Matches like Tsonga/Ferrer will be overshadowed by the big name matches. But this thread is about personal preference. Which match do you most want to watch?

06-26-2011, 01:27 PM
Andy vs. richie :) then JMDP vs. Rafa and then tsonga vs. ferrer.

06-26-2011, 01:30 PM
Ferrer v. Tsonga - imo this has the potential to be a very entertaining match.

llodra - djokovic

06-26-2011, 01:35 PM
Murray-Gasquet of course, not only because of their previous match at Wimbledon but also because they are 2 of 5-6 best grass players.
Del Potro-Nadal on paper obviously is the best (both Slam winner) but it will probably be a non-event as Del Potro simply sucks on grass.

06-26-2011, 01:41 PM
In order from most to least:
Del Potro vs Nadal
Murray vs Gasquet
Berdych vs Fish
Tsonga vs Ferrer
Djokovic vs Llodra
Kubot vs Lopez
Tomic vs Malisse
Federer vs Youzhny

06-26-2011, 01:46 PM
I think they're all incredibly interesting apart from Federer-Youzhny which I expect to be a routine straight sets win for Federer. Voted for Kubot-Lopez though because that will be a classic grasscourt matchup with plenty of serve-volleying, also to show it some love because I don't expect too many others to vote for it!

yes, murray-gasquet too...

06-26-2011, 02:34 PM
Tomic-Malisse should be good despite not meaning as much as some of the others because of the lack of big names. Hopefully Xavier will take out the trash.

06-26-2011, 02:35 PM
Murray vs Gasquet
I think Richie can cause an upset here

06-26-2011, 02:52 PM
del potro is not very good on grass. rochus took the 1 set he didnt play like shit, and simon put in some serious choking

I say Tsonga vs Ferrer and Murray vs Gasquet, though Djokovic vs Llodra has upset potential

06-26-2011, 03:03 PM
Murray - Gasquet and Djokovic - Llodra.

And Ferrer is?

06-26-2011, 04:00 PM
No, and I think Tsonga wins, but Ferrer matches are always fun to watch and he has a shot if he serves well (He had to choke to avoid reaching QFs last year)

06-26-2011, 04:05 PM
Ferrer tsonga wil be the only match that can go to 5 sets, rest of them are 3-4 set matches. NAdal will win in easy 3 sets as will djokovic and Federer(who the hell voted for him? he's going to have the most boring match) and Gasquet wll beat murry in 3 maybe 4. Can't see tomic doing anytrhing to malisse unless he has diarhorrea

06-26-2011, 04:20 PM
Don't expect much from Delpo/Rafito, it'll be a routine job for Rafito as Delpo doesn't like grass.

Gasquet/Murray should be a cracker, also interesting match could be Tsonga/Ferrer or Djokovic/Llodra.

06-26-2011, 04:33 PM
rafa vs delpo ofcourse, the true final.

06-26-2011, 04:35 PM
rafa vs delpo ofcourse, the true final.

IF that's the case then it will be more of a one sided final than last years.

06-26-2011, 05:30 PM
Nadal del potro is interesting because of their history together....us open champ and world no 1
Tsonga-Ferrer will put a great show from tsonga along with the grinder ferrer
Tomic -Malisse will put in front a former SF veteran and a up-and coming exciting au
Djokovic-Llodra willot be as nice as the baghy match even though Llodra will entartain with volleys
Murray-Gasquet will be like a football match with the crowd backing Murray in his 5 set victory again breakin Gasquet heart
Lopez, Federer will win easily while fish-Berdych might be nice with the american more consistent than the rather fluke Berdych who will lose this time;)

06-26-2011, 05:44 PM
Tossup between Rafa-Potro and Murray-Gasquet. Voted for the first one, because of Rafa, but think the other one will be the better match. And Tomic-Malisse to see which one can seize this opportunity. Other matches don't seem very interesting to me.

06-26-2011, 05:51 PM
Murray/gascoke by far

06-26-2011, 05:55 PM
All of them

06-26-2011, 07:17 PM
Murray v Gasquet and Tsonga v Ferrer.

Probably the most intriguing set of matches in any tournament so far this year. Especially for a 4th round.

Apart from the Gasray match, Del Nadpoo for obvious reasons, Djodra cause I love watching Llodra's game and Lobot cause that name's just awesome.

What the hell? People are actually saying that the Murray-Coke match is going to be more interesting than the Nadal-D-Pot match?
Is MTF out of its mind? When the hell did Gascoke ever become a dangerous player? Or is this some kind of a joke based on their last match here which he choked away? You people feel this will be a 5 setter too which the coke-man chokes away? Is that why this match is supposed to be so interesting?
It's so ridiculous that a washed up tennis player who "had a lot of potential" is expected to make it very close against a world number 4, whilst the other match a recent grand slam winner is not expected to even make it close against the world number 1.
D- Pot showed in the 2009 season why so good- he KILLED Olderer back from behind the baseline at the French during the only year he won the French, only failing to settle the matter due to lack of experience. He then followed it up with an equally, if not more, comendable performance by beating Fed and (an albeit injured) Rafa at the USO that year. Later even through sickness he made it to the final of the WTF only to lose to Donkey who was having the form of his life. D-Pot 2009 was an animal unlike anyone had seen in the ATP. He is considered by many here to be the future of the ATP. Yes, so he lately lost to a Clown at the Queens on grass. So what? Doesn't Olderer lose to clown in inconsequential Mickey Mouse events as well?. Also many here consider that the courts are all now basically the same - Grass is slower, Clay is faster- all surfaces are homogenized. Clearly doesn't that mean D-Pot won't struggle in grass, when there is not much difference nowadays between the surfaces? Oh wait, I fogot. He's playing Nadal. And no one wants to give Nadal credit for his wins. In fact the homogenizing theory was brought out to explain why Nadal was able to win majors everywhere- something which was brought to discredit him. But all of a sudden the differece between surfaces comes into light now, when he faces an opponent such D-Pot, as you say he is not going to face much of a problem in his way as D-Pot "doesn't move so well on grass". Convenient as you like. Twist anything and everything in tennis just to suit your own demented wish of taking credit away from Nadal.

If he wins tomorrow, it was a piece of cake, if he doesn't he is done. Some people just don't want to acknowledge how good a player he is.
If you ask me the most dangerous and difficult draw that any of the top 4 could have gotten in their draw is having to face Del-Potro before the quarters and once again Nadal has got the bad slice of luck. And Grasscoke, the "amazing talent", the "natural grass player" , don't even kid me. If Murray knows how to play tennis, this shouldn't be more than a routine 2 4 2 affair.

06-26-2011, 09:57 PM
All of them, but Murray/Gasquet most of all.

Any other website with this poll and nadal delpotro match is the overwhelming winner. Here it is trailing some other match. Interesting. I think the mtf crowd probably more tuned into facts like delpo not as comfortable on grass etc etc while most mainstream audiences salivating on this marquee matchup. Mtf folks have too many opinions, baises and prejudices which shows up in this poll.

Personally i cant imagine how delpo nadal match wouldnt be the absolute talk of the town come monday. Think its gonna be a cracker if delpo gets his serve and forehand working well which has been good enough.

Llodra-Djokovic, Murray-Gasquet, and Tomic-Malisse. :rocker2:
I expect the other matches to be dealt with in three, four at the worst/best, for the 'Usual Suspects'.

You are most welcome to bump this post if I'm wrong about this.

Really exciting lineup. I voted for Tomic/Malisse because it's such a huge opportunity for either the veteran who may never be in this position agin, or the young gun who may be embarking on a succesful career right here. Of course Rafa/DelPo has my interest and Murray/Gasquet will hopefully be a corker. Also think Llodra/Nole will be more exciting than some think, Llodra is good on grass and he has the confidence of their last encounter.

Del Potro, even in his best days, couldn't ever make it beyond Round 3 on Wimbledon's grass. As for now, he's still only trying to get back to his best level.

Personally I can't imagine why this match seems to be made such a big deal of.
Rafa in three, four - at the worst occasion.

Laugh at me when I'm wrong about this. ;)

Murray Gasquet, Can't say I'm looking forward to Nadal Delpo. I just don't like their matches. I just want Nadal to win that match easily and get it over and done with.

06-27-2011, 07:06 AM
Looking forward to big Mike taking out the trash serve and volley style.

Anyone with a Centre Court ticket today must be salivating.

They can even go for a walk and have a bite to eat in the intermission while Venus plays.

Lucky gits.
