Yes, this is a bad result, but not a disgusting one, because Richie is cool. Simone did what was required this week and now is close to the top 100, so I'm not too upset.

Today, Richard played a solid match, making few errors, keeping the ball deep, served great at 71% first serves, defended very well, counter-punched well and returned very well. Simone did not return well and made too many errors, he did play better in the third set, but it was too late. Richie moved Simone all around today and Simone couldn't consistently dictate, Richard had control of a majority of points.

Richie has gotten a lot more clutch and hit some great serves when it mattered. His BH is better than both of Simone's shots and he hit some great BH DTL's.

Nice for Richard. But this Bolelli is abysmal :help:
Big Test in next round :yeah:

Gasquet was in third gear for most of this match but it was enough to beat this bolleli.
He'll need to step up if he wants to beat murray but i'm sure he will.

Alllez Gasquet!!! :woohoo: :bounce:

Good solid match from Richard, he served good and his serve came the rescue when Bolelli had 2 BP in the 3rd!!

Bolleli played like a mug. Gasquet was a mug for not closing it out more easily. Should have been 6-3 6-1 6-2 but he lost concentration

Bad result? Grasscourter ranked in the top 15 beating Bolelli on grass? Uh, no, it's a good result.

Finally, the garbage is taken out.

Even the best wawrinka would not be able to beat gasquet on grass anyway so it doesn t matter a lot.

Still haven't seen any of Gasquets matches at Wimby. I am glad he's through the match against Murray should be interesting.

Look at all of you fucking haters. Simone is an extremely talented player and had a good event. Today, he played someone he has a bad H2H with and is a bad match-up, another extreme talent whose a little better than Simone. Don't be mad because Simone's talented. No-one has any legit reason to hate on him anyway yet he's one of the more hated on this forum. Shows me a lot of people here know nothing about tennis.

Congrats to Richard on the victory!

Yeah, u don't want to have an enemy who make Every-Single-Fuckin-Thread.
He needs to do it, you know? Even if he's not watching the match.
Not a good enemy. He can disturb you with his threads.

No one really hates Bolelli, some just hate how you go about your business and end up disliking the players you like.

Much like how players don't really hate Nadal or Murray, but end up disliking them due to their stupid fans.

I will make this simple because of your over the top obnoxiousness when it comes to players you like. In this case Bolelli, people want him to lose not cause they dislike him per se, it's cause of your antics. Same when you rip players like Dodig, Kubot.

No, the term haters is very lazy and comes from people who can't back up their viewpoints legitmately.

As for the match Gasquet he has been fairly decent all year.

Nice match to watch, in spite of Simone's usual lazyness. Does he run sometimes?
Richard did solid job, except when he leads, but that's usual too. A match against Murray would be a great revenge of the devastating loss against the Brit a few years ago.

I guess that if he isn't fired up for this one then he'd better stop tennis.

Didn't watch the whole match but these lapses in concentration are a little worrying, though at least he's not allowing the sets slip from his grasp. He's a lot steadier these days, not letting momentum shifts against him get to his head.

He's looked good this week overall against decent opposition. Watching his match against Giraldo, I was slightly disappointed at the lack of net play but then again he really didn't need that to win. Against Murray (if he wins) it'll be a different story and you feel he'll need all the variety he possesses. I just wish he could hug the baseline more, step in and be aggressive from the start but for some reason he seems so stubborn to make that adjustment.

Good win for Gasquet. He has his chances against Murray.
