LOL - it's past my bed time and I had Tomic's ascension to Australian number one on my mind. I was also cut for not getting opening post on the Tomic-Andreev result thread and rushed this.

Can't see anything interesting. Soderling will blow out him from the court

Toad in 3, maybe Tomic can snatch a set if his slice pisses Soderling off..

I will vote with my heart and saying Tomic in 5. But I would be delusional if I said Soda is not the favourite to this one. My head says Robin in 4. Anyway, i wouldn't be mad at all if Soda wins, but I would be in heaven, if Tomic pulled out this huge upset.

Two of the big hitters, the difference between them is like 130 ranking spots right now. Tomic is very dangerous as an underdog, he showed that against Nadal back at the aussie open. But Robin just has to win this since he's the world number 5.....but who knows

Sorry for the aussies but Robin has to extinguish the new hope as well as the old hope. Tomic is talented but I don't see him winning.

Soderling has gotten a full days rest so the 4 hour Hewitt match will not be a major concern. It probably boosted Sod's confidence to epic level making a comeback like that so would be a disaster for him if he wastes it by doing a bad match so don't see that happening. Sod in 3 if he finds his best level

I'd rather watch Wimby on TV rather than streams. Yesterday they were showing Tomug rerun instead of live matches.

If Tomic serves well, he can take multiple sets off Soderling.

Quotes from Tomic:
"I know that Soderling can blow me off the court"

About getting advice from Hewitts coach Tony Roche:
"He gave me some good advice about how to play"
"That we haven't played or practiced before is good. Hopefully he won't like my gamestyle. If I can hold serve anything can happen"

Tomic himself pretty much nails it down. He will be blown off the court if he engages in baseline rallies but if he spices things up and is clever with the shot selection/serve placement he can trouble Soderling. And if he gets sets to tiebreaks anything can happen indeed

WTF is that water drinkin smile for? Yes, I consider him big hitting since saw him against Nadal, and he effortlessly (Agassi's stuff) hit on both sides.

Who knows, maybe we'll have to get used to seeing Tomic (1) in the future.

As for the present, Soda is likely to take him down in 4, should be straightforward.

It was my reaction when I read the comment, I see NOLE 107 also disagrees with your statement. Watched Tomic on countless occasions, 90% of the time he is a pusher occasionally he would go guns blazing but it is to rare to call him a big hitter.
