Great for the sport.

Lu at 4.15 before the match, he is no grass gimp.

NID :P

Although the match wasn't that exciting, but Lu winning in straights against the 13th seed is a great result!
Next up is Mello or Llodra, neither player have ever gone past 2nd at wimby before.

Easy win for the man known as Rendy.

Completely expected, Lu had opportunities in the first two sets to win them easier, but got the job done in those sets and finished the match off. Viktor isn't a good grass court player, he plays like Djokovic used to on grass. The serve and some good volleying was what really kept Viktor in the match, Lu controlled the baseline throughout. Viktor got a few bad calls and complained about them with Jake Garner, had a funny conversation with him before the resumption of play after the rain delay.

Happy to see Lu taking advantage of the draw he received.

gross, i wanted him out early so

guy is the atp's answer to pironkova, shows up for one tournament every year and is mediocre for the rest of it

4 threads is a bit much for this  And a database error...

Pretty expected, good to see Lu is playing well enough to defend some of his points so he doesn't fall too far down the rankings

How unkind. ATP doesn't need an answer to Pironkova. WTA could only dream of having a player of Lu's calibre (that isn't Belgian)

Better grass player won.

Yen Hsun takes out the trash. Troicki was a real twerp after the third last point. Got upset over a call and started screaming loudly while Lu still had a play on the ball. Thankfully, he didn't get distracted and finished off the point

well its true, think about it

both of them basically disappear all year except for wimbledon and they might have one or 2 good performances aside from that, perhaps even throwing in a fluke win or 2

Maybe tennis just needs a longer grass season for these players.

Yes!!! Well done Lu. :yeah: He is a such good grass court player. :) I can't wait what will happen against Llodra. :D

I think it's great to see him doing well again at Wimbledon. However, I don't see him getting to the quarterfinals again since he would have to beat Djokovic.

I don't like Lu, but I must admit that he is, without any doubt, the player (of all ATP) more "robbed" with this very shirt grass season.

This is probably why the grass-court season needs to be longer. At least the clay courters can pick up points in several tournaments. Poor old grass courters can't.

Still, part of me feels like Lu shouldn't do well because he only seems to turn up for 1 ATP tournament a year.

Wimbledon is not an ATP tournament.

Lu has a serious chance of defending half his points from last year. Great stuff.
