Wimbledon R2: [2] Djokovic def. Anderson 6-3 6-4 6-2

Just too good from the provisional world #1. Not a vintage performance by any stretch in the windy conditions, but he served well (until the final game), and he was too consistent and counter-punched too well for Anderson.

Kevin isn't a grass player even though he's tall and has a big serve and he should look to improve his transition game to take his game to the next level and also he needs to improve his returning.

Worrying choke in the 1st set, might not be good enough for the title ;);)

And Nadal was down 4-2 in 1st set of round one...Federer played a tie break,Murray lost the first set and you are clueless....

Nole didn't need to put his sixth gear, he was that superior. Had some moments where he was a bit passive and unfocused but overall easy match for him. He controlled it from start to finish. Nole winning his matches with very solid tennis. Good volleys too. He has improved there as well.

U Talk Garbage ! Why play in 4th gear if 3rd will do?

Well done Nole :) Comfortable win, but I'm hoping Soderling gets past Hewitt so that Novak gets a nice stern test before he plays Federer (of course, assuming both get there).

Forehand was impressive. He is playing it even better on grass.
Also movement on grass way better than previous years.

Did not see the match but judging by the score it seems as if it was business as usual for the real world number one.

It was not so easy as result shows.I think he can play even better then this, but there was no need in that.

Loved how they said on the BBC that absolutely no one was talking about Djokovic as a potential winner, and that everybody was talking about Roger, Rafa and Murray.

My dear BBC, you're the only ones stupid enough to be talking about Murray and forgetting Novak, the rest of the tennis community knows better.

Sure. Murray is only talked about because he's British. As if that is an advantage that will help him win Wimbledon.

I prefer Novak flying slightly under the radar... better for him to surprise later. :)

Despite the good performances Novak is putting, I still believe Federer has the edge over him. I'm not too confident about Nole's serve; while the percentages may be high, they aren't always unreturnable. Didn't get to watch Fed play today, but from what I'm reading he's in fine form. Best of luck Nole :)

it's a nice smooth win, but I don't know if Djokovic DOES have the 5th gear for winning this tournament, just not sure if the talent on grass for him exists to win the title

You would know if you watched his matches if he had the ability or not. He has clearly improved his movement, serving, and the rest since last year.

He is fine form b/c he has a cakewalk draw, but have you watched the 4 matches Novak and Roger have played this year? He does not have the edge over him unless a bunch french people are all over him. Nole, will have to serve good, but I have faith he can send Federer packing in the sf.

Novak absolutely man handled this giraffe. Just crushed him. Novak pushed him all over the court with his massive groundies, gave Anderson no room to breathe. I laughed at how clumsy Novak made Anderson look, Anderson was a puppet out there.

No shit. He's a different player this year. A completely different player. Right now 2009/2010 don't even exist. They are blanks in Nole's life. Name one player who moves better than Nole?

you can't

it's a nice smooth win, but I don't know if Djokovic DOES have the 5th gear for winning this tournament, just not sure if the talent on grass for him exists to win the title

define what talent on grass is? you can't. You sound scared

kevin had his chances to get back on serve in that 3rd set but just couldnt take any of them

No he didn't. Nole was as ruthless as ever. Anderson thought he had a chance but Nole just snatched it from under his nose. That's a big difference from last year. Nole is much MUCH more clinical than last year. He returns the serve so well that the serve becomes a weakness for the server. From the baseline you can't beat him. It's impossible

OH and Filo V you didn't even watch the match so don't comment on Novaks play. People don't come to this site to read lies and bullshit

I did get to watch a big chunk of all of these 4 matches. None of them, except Dubai, were easy wins for Novak. The RG SF was decided on a couple of points in the 1st and 4th sets; it was by no means an easy win for Federer. All I'm saying is that Federer is deadliest on grass and so Djokovic will have to serve particularly well when he reaches the semis. Also, if Federer fails to serve well, I'm pretty sure it's even deadlier to him than it is for Nole.

Agree. It will all depend on how well they serve on that given day. The only thing that bails federer out is his serve, he's extremely dependent on it.

it looks smooth as long as its smooth......one match, one tough match and let me tell you djokovic won't be handling it well......even if he somehow scrapes through to the semis, he won't be able to give his 100% in the semis......

Luckily, Novak doesn't have to bagel him to advance, a tight win is still a win :)

no worries nole fan, gone is that little period in which nadal's backhand was touching new lows match by match......

i am just indicating the amount of toll the streak would have taken on nole......he has expended a lot in the first half of the season and i will be really impressed if he wins 4 more best of 5 set matches and reaches the final here......

The streak and the loss to federer don't seem to have affected him in anyway, he's still playing as strongly as before and he's as confident as he has ever been. :)
