I don't think Roddick will have the consistency of results needed to be top 5, at least for a decent length of time.

Top 5 is a longshot but he will be satisfied if he makes it to the WTF once again.

He will not

He will never be top 5 again, but I think he is still a danger in Grand Slams like Wimbledon or US Open and a couple masters events.

You'd rather have a serve-pusher in the top 5?

At least he is a big name with a slam .....Soderling in my opinion is the most disgusting player in the world both playing style and his unfair personality....

Depends how well he goes at Wimbledon! I honestly think he could finish as low as 15 at the end of the year!

Andy Roddick has lost three Wimbledon finals but an innocuous second-round victory over Romanian Victor Hanescu on Wednesday was the first time he had played in front of his parents at the All England Club.
The American number eight seed booked his place in the third round with a comfortable 6-4 6-3 6-4 workout in the early evening gloom on Centre Court.
"Yeah, this is the first time they've seen me play here," Roddick told reporters after wrapping up the match in just one hour and 52 minutes.
"Honestly, I didn't really believe it. I thought they were here for one of the finals. I thought they flew over and were sitting here somewhere but they wouldn't tell me.
"I think today was the first time they ever sat in a box in my entire career.
"They picked a good court to debut that on. I think they were having fun."=

:o the dicks finally showed their sneaky faces because their shemale son's playing for free money.

Roddick is playing well right now but consistency is an issue. I see the aggressiveness at times he'd need to get to top 5, but that defensive mentality will be a problem when facing the top guys. That 5th spot is a bit tenuous so I'd not say never.
Unlikely, but possible.

No chance. Even at his top level, which was last year in Miami the last time I remember, he is still only top 6/7 at the very best, and he doesn't play at that level for the rest of the year.

He is still top 10, mainly because he can still navigate easy 250 fields on hard courts, and put in a couple of decent GS showings. But top 5 is too far away, esp considering he isn't at the same level as Sod, or even Ferrer. Delpo will secure 5 again soon I'm pretty sure of that.

Probably not. Top 10 easily methinks.

as he grows older, he lies more to protect his so-called friends and family. he's a moron with a smug, backwards, sneaky, abusive, brainless fake attitude. all because no coward shut him up. he's more embarrassing than other players who are smarter but physically incapable of winning slams.

Oh Soderling's a Swede like me so I have to defend him... :o

Anyway, let's face it, as much as some of us would like that to happen - it ain't gonna happen, his game hasn't been top 5 material for long time now and I don't think he can ever come back to that level.

I'd love to see him play more aggressvely, but those are also wishes that were never fulfilled for years now, he seems to be satisfied with his pusher style.

lol, let's see him play against a formidable opponent first.

i really like Roddick, but be realistic, there is no way for him to be top 5 again, why not? because we have that big 4 for next 2-3 seasons at least- until Roger will be still good, and than we have Delpo who is far better than anyone else right now on the tour to be top 5 too, than i don´t see Roddick to have more points than Soderling or Ferrer, so i think even if Roddick will have great 2nd part of the season he can be 7th, but not higher.

Not gonna happen. The best he can hope for in the next few years is top 20. Most guys in the top ten are better than him let alone top 5. He is clinging on in the top ten but he will drop out soon.

He might, not this year though. He still has the huge serve and when he flattens out the forehand he can beat anyone.

So basically he would have to edge out Soderling for this to happen...I mean he's just not going to consistently outperform Mugray, Nadal, Fed or Djoko. If Andy wins a masters and makes some slam semis and another slam final, it's possible but Roddick hasn't made a slam final and at least a semi at another slam since 2009. He's pretty much a one or two big tournament a year kinda guy.
