You're right - Nadal's been given another shocker here.

Only 3 men have ever beaten him here. Srichapan has since retired, so only two are left in this year's tourney. He's been fucked by the draw so that he has to face one of the other 2 in the first week! Unbelievable stuff IMO.

It´s a pitty, i was hoping for new ace record in 3 or 4 sets, and most likely it could happen, because they both had 5 aces from 14-15 serves so that is exactly every third serve in - ace. Hope Raonic will be healthy for HC summer and will make some upsets there.

I agree that it isn't certain, but Muller was 8/10 on getting his first serve in and Milos already broke him. Milos also appeared to have the advantage in rallies as well, so I'd put the odds of him winning if healthy at well over 80%.

frightening moment to see him limping. Hope it does not make him more tentative on grass in the future as this memory will linger. But then again who cares what happens in the future - the big worry is that he should recover quickly now and be fit for the hardcourt swing where he could do some major damage.

I was so looking forward to see Rafito play Raonic. It would have been fun - expected Rafa to come through but also expected some tie-breaks. Moreover thats the only time I see a complete match of Raonic.

Some quotes

I knew right away. I didn’t think I could even lift my leg. It was a pretty sharp pain,” he said. “But as time passed, with the treatment, I was able to walk a bit. But after the first serve, I could tell it was too much, at least too much for me.”

“I don’t know anything,” he said en route to the hospital. “It’s too soon for a diagnosis on what it is. But it’s something pretty deep in the hip

First things first, very sad to see Milos getting injured, as he started the match very well. Although I wanted Muller to win, you always hate to see victories in this way. Hopefully he gets healthy soon, the tour is better with him around.

Now, with that said, Muller is as much of a test to Rafa as Raonic would have been, so anyone saying "Oh, now Rafa has an easy draw" doesn't know too much about the game. Muller is a big hitter, big serving, good volleying, and an intense guy, and will give Rafa a tough match if he brings a good level.

Hilarious that:

a) this whole thread is about Rafa. Neither of these two guys today was testing him seriously on Friday. Maybe it would be more topical to point out Milos suffered what is likely a serious injury.
b) people are pretending Muller is some type of threat to Rafa and better than Milos. Anyone saying that is either stuck in 2005, or else is trying to pretend they are smarter than everyone else by making a false claim about a truly mediocre player with no significant accomplishments as soon as the word "junior" was taken away from his name.

and

c) that no one has come here yet to say they are happy that the "serve bot" lost again.

Ravel
06-22-2011, 10:51 PM
Did they even dry Court 3 after the Watson match, right before Raonic got on? They started pretty quickly after Watson lost... I don't think they even had that long a warmup.

If not, the organizers are to blame for this mishap. There's one thing to speed things along, but to endanger the players' safety??

Even Muller slipped on that side of the court on a previous game. That's what the commentator said as Raonic was being tended to on the ground.

He's never played on grass before this year, how can you say he's a mug on grass? This was only his fourth match on grass in his entire career.

It's not his fault that the grass was slick and he had a bad fall--Muller nearly hurt himself when he'd been on that side, so it has nothing to do with Milos' movement
