Great win, Ryan! Saved BP at *55 in the first set and won five points in a row from *2-5 to win the tiebreak. Cruised in the second, then came back from a break down in the third. #99 now on the live rankings, could still miss the top 100 when all is said and done, but he's very close. Good luck against Ferrer! :bounce:

Great win for him, happy he's doing better and better. Hopefully he'll give a good account of himself against Ferrer. He deserves to be in the top 100.

wow, totally completely shocked by this result. and 6-0 in the second set!!!? Can't say if Dodig is a great grass court player, but Harrison is not really thought to be well suited for it. really hoping Ryan can upset some more the next few rounds

Good win. Best surface for him to face Ferrer. Ferrer should still win comfortably though.

Let's go Ryan! :D

He could beat Ferrer on this surface, it will be extremely tough though.

I think it could be a great match against Ferru. Definitely one of the few big seeds that you wouldn't mind playing on grass. Hope it's a good one.

This is a REALLY impressive win from Ryan. Dodig has the type of game to be very good on grass, and just made the finals in the Netherlands last week.

Why Harrison gets no media attention in the States while guys like Young (who is three years his senior and light years behind in maturity and promise) get constant press for childish antics is behind me.

I guess it is cooler in today's generation to slack off, constantly whine to try to get your way, and be an immature prick than it is to steady and hardworking.

post would maybe be accurate 3-5 years ago. Harrison gets way more coverage now and deservedly so.

It was about fucking time to get a decent win, only shit lately from Ryanito. Losing to Stebe was just as disgusting as it gets

First main tour main draw win for Ryan outside American soil. I think he can bother Ferrer a little next round.

Really chuffed for the guy. Well played.

So.. Tomic - Harrison - Raonic - Dimitrov/Stebe : Here they come? At least one of them is in for the bandwagon of a lifetime soon. Raonic already had this, but still.

Hope we'll finally get a TV coverage to see that Spanish Duracell bunny getting his ass kicked . :rocker2:

Just hate not being able to see Ryan play more often, just a pure joy watching this pure talent. Get a grip Ryan and stop losing to all these mugs.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear if there was an injury to Dodig, because losing a set 0-6 is really unexplainable for someone with his serve, then there was a long break before the start of the third. In any case, this is a great win for Ryan, I knew he could do it, but this is convincing. Nice serve stats and good efficiency at the net.

I really doubt he beats Ferrer, but hopefully he gives a good account of himself, and who knows? In any case, he's right around 100 now, and USO direct looks much more likely for him now.

Final the week before a slam? Ask Sr. Almagro if that's a good idea.

S'Hertogenbosch also not the best prep for Wimbledon, it's a totally different type of grass.

Don't even compare the situations. Almagro does this, in weeks before RG where he can be a factor. Dodig does this before Wimbledon, a place where he wouldn't do nothing special anyway. And at least he won 150 very points. As far as Almagro concerned he won nothing, cause he can't win anymore points of 250 because of the rules, so he's just stupid.

So, in the end of the day: Dodig = Smart ; Almagro = Dumb

Good for him for capitalizing on his lucky loser entry.

Dodig is a guy I don't understad. Say him play in Montreal two years ago and I didn't understand how he was ranked around 100 at the time. And I don't get how he winning tournaments now.

I said the same thing, and got criticized for it. I doubted him openly, not out of dislike, but the fact he's not really talented. I'm to this day surprised that he's done as well as he has this past year. With that said, he deserves a ton of credit for grinding for a long time in challengers with little sponsor money, and making the most out of what he has.

That's what you say, in my book it is. Kudos for this year results Stebe, but i just don't see anything special when watching that kid play (especially when compared to Ryans pure talent).
