Day 1: Stebe wins the first two sets
Day 2: Harrison wins the next two sets
Day 3, part 1: On serve to 6-5, rain delay
Day 3, part 2: Harrison broken to love

Poor Ryan. Hope he's LL again.

Stebe started the year #413 and is now top 200.

Great win for the young German. Looked like he missed his chance after dominating the first two sets. Harrison had looks on his serve in the 5th, but the stops and starts due to rain must have really helped Stebe. Stebe won four straight points on return after return from another rain delay to win the match.

Harrison has chances for a LL spot. Stebe is a good young talent, and one who plays his best on quick courts, so he will be fun to follow as he progresses. Congrats to him on this victory.

Damn, Stebe is a fucking tool, hope he gets trashed R1 at Wimbledon.

Harrison is to blame really though, played awful in the first 2 sets and even led *4-0 in the 2nd. Really the rain delay was it, having to come out and serve to stay in the match isn't really fair.

Yeah, Stebe :worship:

Err, Certinfy, without the rain delay, Harrison would have lost in three sets on Thursday, I'm sure, so I don't really get why you're so angry about the rain

Ryan is my favorite but he is clearly a loser. He is light years from atp level. Choking against a loser nobody like stebe is terrible. Just Terrible.

I don't think he had that many looks on Stebe's serve in the 5th. Yeah, he had 0-30 once, I think in Stebe's 2nd service game but Stebe himself had at least 30-all in every but one or two service games so he deserved the 5th set I think.

LL spot is a pity. Is for natural born losers. Ryan should stop dreaming about bright future in this sport. What a choker he is....
Go Ryan...but please don't choke in every single last service game.

He's my favorite but to be honest he has not much to be proud of so far. He better be playing challengers much more, he clearly can't deal with atp level at 19.....terrible

Come on, give him a chance. He's up there, close to MD and he gave Söderling a scare at RG. The boys mature later than the girls and I think we will see big things from Ryan in the years to come. He just needs to start playing shirtless :cheerleader:

If that's true; on the one hand, good for him for holding himself to a high standard, that's an excellent habit for a young player, but on the other, excessive pride gets you to a very bad place in your head and he should welcome any opportunity he is handed when it's given to him, either way, and make the absolute best he can out of it. He has a good game with so much potential and he should learn to take more pride in his performance than his results.

If he gets the LL spot, he should feel happy about it and play his ass off no matter who he's up against, not throw himself a rage party in his head just because he, arguably, "didn't deserve it".

Ignoring the crudeness on this thread, to answer the question that was asked, Stebe is 6ft., he's slight of build but has great timing on his shots and is a shotmaker, better BH than forehand, good first serve, mediocre second serve, has decent variety, and is left-handed. He's pretty cute too

His first serve isn't anything special, it wins him a few cheap points but it's not that good. Variety wise he's just solid from the baseline, volleys are quite poor. As for him being cute, no doubt you would have mentioned that

There's nothing pity to be in MD of Wimbledon.. he stayed in Paris after that match against Marti, waiting to see if he can get LL spot. And this is Wimbledon for fuck's sake

And he is not that bad this year, nothing more then other players born in 1992 or after... 4th round of IW, only player born in 1992 or after with Challenger title and will do even more in USA from August

Are there any good youngters in the tour?

Young players all terribly bad. In their case, they are struggling even to get into the MD of a slam. The generations before this won slams at their age. Chokerkings all these youngsters.

Hehe, expected one. My main question after the match was how many rackets did Ryan break :tape:
Got his racket stuck in a tree after his FO final qualifying round and now he probably broke a racket and damaged the court

Btw, plenty of hilarious drama queens in this thread...

Ryan is still too immature to handle some of these big matches, which reflects in his attitude and behaviour on court. He needs some growing up to do before he can take that final step into big boys tour

Hopefully Ryan can still get in as a LL.

Apparently he was given a $800 fine by ITF for "unsportsmanlike conduct."

Glad to know he was pissed about losing. Hopefully one day he'll channel that energy into something more positive.

Stebe is also a very young player, dunno why people keep dissing the youngsters here.

Mind we also live longer than in the past, not 60 years but 85, humans are changing, no need to win slams at 14 y.o. anymore.

Harrison lost to Marti and Stebe, two very young and promising players, I fail to see a problem in that for tennis, except for American tennis maybe, but not tennis as sport that it would lack entertainment from now on, or something. If you want a kid winning a big event, watch "XXX got talent" and whatnot.
