The first man to qualify for Wimbledon is the Belgian Ruben Bemelmans! After the performance he had in Halle last week v Berdych and other matches he's had at the top level where he's given a good account of himself, this wasn't a surprise. Had an easy draw and took advantage.
He's someone who can win a few MD matches if he gets the right draw.

Played well in challengers from what I've seen of him this year.. congrats to the guy. Commiserations to Olaso, tried his best.

Was impressed when I saw him against Nadal in Bangkok last year. (And even that was an achievement; he'd qualified AND won his R1 match then.)

Bemelmans is an awesome grass court player when he's on.
His low ranking is purely due to the fact that there aren't too many grass tournaments around anymore. I've seen him knock the sh*t out of a lot of players being about 150 ranking places above him - and he should really have won his match against Berdych in Halle.
I hope he'll make some noise/cause some upsets in Wimbledon. :yeah:
